I've decided to get a couple of blue egg layers - if I can find any. I don't mind travelling at all but does anyone know where I can find some ?

Re: Blue egg layers near Oxford?
Try Hook Farm, or any Medowsweet supplier, who may have blue laying hybrids.
Hook Farm do them too.
I got my hybrid girls from there

Hook Farm *might* have some - try giving them a call or dropping them an email
But it could be that they're too far down the A34 for you?

Cotswold Chickens have Skylines but have sold out and won't have any until September. I highly recommend them though if you can wait that long!
A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.

Hook Farm is just off the M3 so not too far. Cotswold Chickens outside Banbury is a Meadowsweet agent so I could try them too. Thanks!

Re: Blue egg layers near Oxford?
I have just looked at the Meadowsweet website and was interested to see that they own the trademark to 'Bluebelle' chickens and that anyone selling birds called 'Bluebelles' that is not one of their suppliers is doing so fraudulently
I have 2 Bluebelles but it is
as the person I got them from is on their list.

Re: Blue egg layers near Oxford?
Bear in mind that no hybrid is guaranteed to lay blue eggs - the chance is 80% blue or green and 20% cream/tinted
These people sell Cream Legbars (blue or blue/green eggs) and Araucanas (blue eggs)and may also have the hybrids, helpful people and good clean set up
