How much food to give.
Flora after her recent cold has now got Coccidiosis, the vet didn't have any Avipiro but suggested I syringed baby food into her to get some food down her. She took about 8 ml before so I think Ill trey and do little and often. Any ideas how much she will need.

Re: How much food to give.
I tried the baby food once but they didn't seem to like it.
Have you tried her with some rice pudding, or apple sauce, mine seem to like those when they are ill. I also give porridge oats mixed with grated apple and yoghurt sweetened with a tiny bit of honey.
And I havn't met a chuck yet that cant be tempted with live meal worms

I think the main thing is to make sure she is drinking, I give mine flat lucozade or Dioralyte solution just to keep their glucose and electrolytes up.

Re: How much food to give.
Thanks for your replies.
Fingers crossed she seems much better this morning. She couldn't wait to get out of her house this morning and is drinking ok. She had a few pellets and some scrambled egg with yoghurt. I think the runny poos are getting firmer but still have some blood in them. the vet said he hadn't seen such bad diarroreah in a chicken for a long time. Keep fingers crossed for her.
