  1. The thread is 3 years old,
  2. Had it with the pop up / obviously they don’t want us to post unless we subscribe and I have had it - had to use phone as computer no submit button as hidden with pop up.
  3. I am 67 and had no problems on the AZ vaccine - if touched my arm could feel it a bit sore but no other symptoms at all- roll on 2nd jab! And all I have is arthritis.
  4. Nice to see it though - my girls used to love it and I made them paths. This was my snow 2 weeks ago.
  5. I had my first vaccine on Tuesday - no problems and the people on the door marshalling everyone were very pleasant and everyone was calm and no stroppy folks here - it was very well run - never felt a thing and only was tired on Wednesday and am fine now. Arm is ok.
  6. In front of my house this morning = hoorah we are free again
  7. Really looks beautifully warm and cosy, you are the crochet queen!
  8. I like my window open all night too - but not managed this last couple nights - hate to sleep in the warmth but the house stat is set at 23 as my husband feels the cold badly. Our house we built in the 90's and had new UPVC windows put in later but there is still some condensation but probably from using water in kitchen and the dryer on and off. Last night it got to the giddy heights of -7 so today its -1 but with a wind and feels much colder than the other day at -15. It is not a well insulated house but it is also the only house in the area with a full roof of snow left on - due to being tiles instead of slate roof. Keeps the house warmer!
  9. Actually Braemar not too far away the coldest place in uk overnight with a low of Minus 23 = coldest in 25 years - we used to get winters like this so fairly used to it.
  10. Plenty radiators here its just cause we have big windows and its really really cold and snowy. The heating is usually not on at night but last night and tonight it will be - we have oil and a one year old economical boiler so its nice and cosy. Born and brought up with no central heating and in a colder place - always lovely frosted single glazed windows every winter - you got used to it and the mopping up of window ledges each day! Coal fire and oil filled radiators if really cold. We really have it soft nowadays!
  11. Brr... Minus 15 here this morning heating been on all night and still ice inside double glazed windows.
  12. He and his era have seen and been through so much in their lives and what wonders they have seen from wars to air travel, men on the moon, space stations and now the dreaded Covid. He has had a wonderful life - did not deserve to die of the virus and he really really did leave us quite a legacy. May he rest in peace.
  13. You stretch the truth a little - use a different name for the items! My American friends are quite good at being different on the forms!! So there is still an element of surprise = home made crafts comes to mind rather than a knitted har!
  14. I think it will only require payments if the cost of the goods is over a certain amount of money. Same as has been for years from non EU countries. Moral of the story is to be a gift and not be expensive
  15. For the oily hair. Ethique do a St Clements bar shampoo for oily hair. Love their products and shampoo bars last ages I have the little plastic box to store it in. Also love their face stuff too. Sold in Holland & Barrett.
  16. Why should they go out if they don't want to wear a mask. Letting them download the exemption card themselves is ridiculous. They are just being lazy. Also the short time they are in a shop would not kill folks to wear one even asthmatics.
  17. Just don't get me going about masks.😡
  18. Traditional Scottish porridge here. Oatmeal soaked in water overnight and cooked with salt - never sugary stuff ! Serve with separate bowl of milk.
  19. I also have used this recipe for last few years. Add port instead of water, treacle, mixed chopped nuts and cherries. It keeps very well.
  20. Oh Soapdragon thats not good but hope you can get skype appointments and get to where you need to be with your hip. Its really bad here to get a doctor to be seen - not happening or a phone call - they never phone back! My husband has COPD and had a really really bad couple weeks about 3 weeks ago and we phoned twice one day wanting to speak to the doctor for different medication - he could not get his breathing under control at all and it was very scary = after a day of no response I phoned for ambulance and they were really really good - sorted him out and then spoke to the doctors who eventually phoned him back 2 hours later to see how he was and give new prescriptions. Have had to follow up phone calls ourselves and basically demand medications. Its dire. He had a CT scan this morning and has to wait 10 days before phoning for results. I hope all keep safe over the christmas period and that 2021 is a better year for all of us.
  21. Ali's girls that sounds terrible for your friend. In Scotland we all go into Tier 4 Boxing Day for 3 weeks. Fed up now! Also what an exodus from London yesterday.
  22. There is an outbreak in Orkney birds dead or culled and lots of wild birds in Aberdeenshire dying with possibly the same. Keep safe.
  23. Gosh you are very talented drawing on your windows - they are stunning.
  24. Only 2 packs of loo rolls in Asda!! Here we go again.
