  1. I follow Cinnamon's progress on Facebook as they renovate their farm house. So talented and hard working. I realised when I searched I was going to get a lot of results for "cinnamon" on this forum! 🤣 x
  2. and more for football matches too! I've got tickets at the front of the circle for £20 for 2 different plays this year. In comparison to that "from £25" seems a little expensive, but I guess it's not really. We've got 4 excellent theatres in Liverpool. I'd rather go to the theatre than a football match! I have paid circa £60 for concert tickets!
  3. Adam Kay tickets are from £25 at my local theatre. A bit too much for me I think 🤷‍♀️x
  4. I didn't see this post first time around. I'm currently looking at rescue dogs. I'm torturing myself really, the reason I got two cats was because it wasn't practical for me to have a dog. The reasons haven't changed and now I have two cats as well! A colleague mentioned this to me. Unfortunately there are no volunteers needed for dog walking close to me. I thought I'd share with you. Please do have a look at the map under volunteers to see if you can help x
  5. I bought a set of bells and a cow horn on my first skiing trip 35 years ago 😯. I still have them 😁 and I still ski, although last time was 2 or 3 years ago. I will return! x
  6. Happy New Year All! I got back from Thailand on New Years Eve morning so was in bed by 6pm 🤣. The fireworks woke me up at midnight. I wasn't even a little bit tempted to sit up and peek out of the window! Holidays are great but its lovely to come home to my cats and my own bed 😁 I haven't met many omlet forum members. I worked the Tatton show for Omlet way back and I know I met a couple there. It would be nice to meet up at some point. x x
  7. My OH is slightly older than me and has cut down on the nr of days he works. He is able to take more time off than me. For the last few years he has taken holidays without me. His last trip was to Thailand and Laos for nearly a month! I don't get a chance to miss him as he Skype me 3 times a day! Having been on many similar holidays with him, I know his daily routine, and I'm sure he is just the same when I am not with him. He isn't one for partying. There is obviously trust on both sides. I enjoy having evenings to myself whilst he is away, I catch up with friends. Would he go fishing by himself or with a friend whilst you went away somewhere else?
  8. Hi all, I picked some blackberries today. Only a couple of handfuls. I've washed and frozen them. What would you do with them? I noticed my damsons are looking ripe to pick too. What would you do with them? my mum used to make damson jam or damson puree and serve with icecream. That was my favourite. Recipe for damson gin anyone? x x
  9. We generally have no restrictions on when we can take our holidays and choose to go out of school holiday season, when it is cheaper, but look at when the weather is pleasant too. We don't enjoy frenetic overly touristy areas.
  10. My bees seem to have gone. I really need to get a skip and clear out the garage! I can just about walk through, climbing over the odd bit on the way!
  11. I see the progress of your house on FB, it's lovely. Sorry to hear Brexit is making things worrying for you. With Boris now in, I worry how things will go myself. Would you be able to set up a camp site more quickly than getting the gites running? I've camped with no more facilities than a toilet and a whb with a cold tap. (in my younger camping days!)
  12. I am very late to this party! Congratulations Lewis. what a great achievement. x
  13. They are definitely some kind of bumble bee. Enormous fluffy things! I can't get a good look at them though. I will leave them 'bee'! no intention of disturbing them, but I am going to have to do a quick dash with my wheelie bin! That's what I'm hoping! x x
  14. Hi, my garage is attached to the house with a door into the kitchen, which we rarely use, and doors onto the front and back garden. Going through the garage is the only way to get a wheelie bin out. I spotted a couple of bees and I've kept out of their way. Earlier I brought the wheelie bin through from the front to the back to fill, dodging the bees. There seem to be more of them now and I'm wetting myself about getting the bin back out (can I say that?!) it's green bin day tomorrow. I've come in to let them calm down, but started googling and one thing I read said there could be 400 of them! I definitely don't want to disturb them! It also said I should count myself lucky! I don't want to harm them and know they will die out come autumn, but what am I going to do meanwhile! (cover up and make a dash for it!) I cant get a picture of them. They are constantly in flight. My ancient plum and cherry trees should be well pollinated this year!! x x
  15. Sorry to hear about your last little bantam. Your neighbour sounds nasty. I hope you don't have any more issues now. Give it a bit of time before deciding whether to get chickens again or not. x x
