    Bumblebees in my garage

They are definitely some kind of bumble bee. Enormous fluffy things! I can't get a good look at them though. I will leave them 'bee'! no intention of disturbing them, but I am going to have to do a quick dash with my wheelie bin! That's what I'm hoping! x x

    Bumblebees in my garage

Hi, my garage is attached to the house with a door into the kitchen, which we rarely use, and doors onto the front and back garden. Going through the garage is the only way to get a wheelie bin out. I spotted a couple of bees and I've kept out of their way. Earlier I brought the wheelie bin through from the front to the back to fill, dodging the bees. There seem to be more of them now and I'm wetting myself about getting the bin back out (can I say that?!) it's green bin day tomorrow. I've come in to let them calm down, but started googling and one thing I read said there could be 400 of them! I definitely don't want to disturb them! It also said I should count myself lucky! I don't want to harm them and know they will die out come autumn, but what am I going to do meanwhile! (cover up and make a dash for it!) I cant get a picture of them. They are constantly in flight. My ancient plum and cherry trees should be well pollinated this year!! x x

    End of an era

Sorry to hear about your last little bantam. Your neighbour sounds nasty. I hope you don't have any more issues now. Give it a bit of time before deciding whether to get chickens again or not. x x

    London Marathon Ballot

I'd struggle to get up in the middle of the night to run it. There are other challenges I would prefer to undertake, The Penine Way for example (not running it!)

    London Marathon Ballot

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is approx the length of a marathon, but up and down. I did that in under 12 hours. It was very physically challenging. @Reikiranf I think if you put your mind to it and train, barring injuries, you should be able to do it. My joints have been feeling particularly stiff recently. No harm in putting in for the ballot I suppose....

    Take pictures of it "before"

    London Marathon Ballot

Has anyone run the London Marathon? I'm considering entering the ballot. I am a fifty something woman, with dodgy knees, achey hips and at least 2 stone over weight! I've run 5K a number of times, but that's all. A full year to train!?!

Kleftiko here for Easter just because I love it! Made with and accompanied by Retsina, and a yoghurt sauce. Followed by chocolate of course! x

    Easter swap 2019

I love this bag. I love the donkeys and the tree branch, and the colours, and all the little dashes. Very prettily put together and very useful. Thank you my Omlet Easter Bunny. x

    Notre Dame

I was also pondering this last night. If they went down the oak route, I wonder how many trees they would need? I'm not sure there would be enough oaks in Europe, or even the world! It was most distressing watching it last night.

    Easter swap 2019

I've been going this way for years! I should also say that I have posted my parcel! Has everyone received one now? I've put mine with my Easter eggs. I am looking forward to Easter so much, a long weekend and a few treats x

    Easter swap 2019

I did a really weird thing. The address I gave for the swap was my dad's address, but with my postcode. I've not lived there for 20 years! I have my parcel. I've given it a squeeze and inspected for postmark (there isn't one). I don't know when it arrived, but I have it now. I've put it out of sight where I wont be tempted to open in advance! x x

    Easter swap 2019

Luvachicken! hope you are having a great time in Perth! I spotted a bargain today in Hobbycraft. 36 skeins x 8m of embroidery thread in various colour ways for £5.50! usually £11. I have stocked up! it wasn't marked up on the shelf, but I'd seen it online earlier in the day. It came up as £5.50 on the till straight away. Even the girl on the till was amazed! They are about £1 each when bought individually.

Take one whole free range chicken

Sounds a bit like a Lancashire hot pot. Mmm, will put Lancashire hot pot on list of things to make when OH gets home. He'll be fed up with rice and curry by then! x
