  2. That's why I thought maybe it would make it more difficult! Make something you enjoy doing, the questions/answers are just if you need inspiration! x

  4. To arrive in plenty of time for Easter Sunday. There are a few people overseas and no post on Good Friday, (I think that's right?) so it might depend who you get! @Luvachicken when might we find out who we are getting? I loved the questions last time. I will put some together, I think it really helps
  5. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10218790513572782&id=1198809206&sfnsn=xwmo Hi, can anyone help rehome some of these hens? x
  6. On the list so far Luvachicken Cat Tails Ursula Patsylabrador Patricia W Mullethunter Redhotchick I have no idea what sort of thing I might make! (I have no particular skills!) x x
  7. Does anyone know what happened to Martin and his orchard? x
  8. when I was a child and learning to bake with my mother I used to measure (exactly) by eye very often. (I'd cut butter/cheese or measure flour/sugar by spooning it on to the scales, and it would be exact!) My mum used to say "you'll never get married". Apparently it was a saying/old wives tale. My mum was right I've never been married! x
  9. Well done Lewis. I have followed your progress from afar over the years, but not your blog, yet! Wasn't it you who bought an orchard/walled garden many years ago? Whatever happened to that?
  10. I had this problem, converting cups to grams. I bought some measuring cups! ta da! problem solved! (someone suggested this to me, it was a lightbulb moment!) x
  11. I mentioned this last night to my OH. He wasn't keen on paying the mooring fees, and I guess all the upkeep. I will look into it myself. It's a beautiful boat, but needs a lot of work. Reconfiguring, electrical work. We have friends who could help. I think OH finds it difficult to think about because of the ties with his dad.
  12. I miss having eggs from my own chickens. They really are the best. I made lemon curd when I had chickens. So nice x
  13. Oh gosh, i must have a picture somewhere. I'm not sure I will be able to find though. Abpopa is Russian for Aurora. Abpopa was a Russian ship https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_cruiser_Aurora&ved=2ahUKEwj8_cag7Y3gAhUxXRUIHW_mAi8QFjAnegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw0bbhw8nBotCksCpxF5E36Q We don't know where Abpopa is. OH could ask his brother but he isn't interested. I think it makes him too sad. When their dad died he left it to both of them. After a few years they agreed to sell. OH's brother agreed to organise. A year later OH asks where it's up to. Brother says "Oh I changed my mind". OH agreed to keep it as long as brother pays all bills. As far as I know he's got it moored up and moves it to avoid paying marina fees. I wonder if he's even taxed it. It make a me sad as we loved going on the boat. I doubt it is properly looked after now. 😥
  14. We've made 3 Ottolenghi recipes this week. Aubergine with yoghurt curry sauce, with a side of houmous and slow cooked tomatoes with a caramelised ginger and chilli topping. Baked potatoes with gorgozola and spinach. We used St Agur, because that's what we had in. Beef meatballs with celeriac. All were from his SIMPLE book and yummy, OH particularly liked the aubergine.
  15. I haven't, but I'll give them a go. I love a detective series. Thank you x
  16. My OH did it and got thousands and thousands back. we think it was in connection with his mortgage, which was paid off. He didn't question it and just took the cash. I've never done it. I don't think I'd be able to remember all the accounts that I've had at all. I'm still curious and thinking about it though.
  17. Oh my! i was feeling nostalgic about my boating days and googled the boat (which OH still half owns but we haven't seen for years) I came across this old post from 2008. Wow! time flies. I may have to have a word with OH about the boat. I feel we should visit her and check up at least.
  18. A hobbit recipe book! I will have to Google that! My appetite is rubbish. OH took me out for a special meal before Christmas. it was multi courses, by the time it got to the main I was too full to eat it. I would have been happy to stop after the canapes! On a Sunday we sometimes break the courses up over the day, do we might have a starter at 1, dinner at 2, dessert at 6, and cheese at 8, or something like that! I like the idea of a hobbit day, but each meal would have to be small. I'm sure I could manage 7 small meals.
  19. We have cats called Lexi and Loxi, but they get called Inspector and Boxi, amongst many other names Inspector because she is always inspecting, and Boxi because it rhymes with Loxi and she often sleeps on a box!
  20. I hope you're going to have a second breakfast too! 😁 I actually love having multiple breakfast dishes, like some toast early on, or a fruit shake and eggs and bacon or kedgeree or something like that a bit later! Apparently hobbits have 6 or 7 meals a day! x
  21. Hello! I have been around on this forum for quite some time. I was an infrequent visitor for years but I've been about a bit more recently. I don't have chickens anymore, no one to look after them when I am away. I have recently promised my Eglu to my very lovely friend, who has kept chickens before. so I am very excited to, maybe, be involved with chickens again! I got involved with the Christmas Craft Swap for the first time this year. Which was fun. Omleteers are very knowledgeable. You can get help with anything on here. Thank you! x
  22. I've been taking it easy. it's great to be off work. Feeling lots better. I'm on day 6 of 7 of steroids, and just finished antibiotics.
