  1. Running low on layers pellets! :-0

The odd censorship issue should be fixed now, sorry about that folks!
  2. 'Strange' Neighbour

Sorry about the overzealous censorship folks, we're fixing that now. The over-sensitive censorship should now be fixed!
  3. New Layout & Forum Software

Hi Leicester_H, The new post editor is WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get), so there's no need to preview posts. They'll appear just as they do in the editor.
  4. Please post any issues you encounter in this thread and we’ll look into them ASAP! Known Issues: There are no known issues at the moment.
  5. New Layout & Forum Software

Hi Everyone, As part 2 of our forum improvements, we're going to be changing the forum software over to something much more up-to-date: Invision Power Board. This will offer a modern, mobile-phone friendly interface, integrated image posting and better spam prevention features, so no activation will be required before new users can post. We are also adding custom, Omlet-specific features, one of which being that you can choose to display which Omlet products you own on your profile! You can view Invision's own example of Power Board here: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums In order to switch to the new software, the forum will be offline on Wednesday and Thursday this week (the 28th and the 1st) so we can convert our 1.1m+ posts over to the new forum. We hope this will be completed on time but it may stretch into Friday depending on how quickly the conversion process runs.
  6. New Layout & Forum Software

Thank you all for your feedback. It's great to see that so many people are still so passionate about this forum. Since I joined Omlet 10 years ago, participation in the forum has dropped by 98%. At it's peak the forum saw over 6,000 posts a week, now we're lucky to crack 100. Over the last year there have been days where we've only seen 3 posts across the whole forum. It's clear that we need make the forum viable by encouraging more participation, so we've decided to invest in some new forum software with better security, easier to read design and a mobile-friendly interface. We’ll also be giving the forum a more prominent place on the website and carrying out marketing to make our newer customers aware of it. As part of the preparation for that we’ve been consolidating some of the older sub-forums and removing the totally unused ones. One of the sub-forums consolidated was the Chicken Clinic, but based on everyone’s comments I think it’s best that it return as a separate sub-forum, in this case as a child forum at the top of ‘Chickens, Eggs and Hatching’ section. All the posts should now be back, but please let me know if any are missing. Matt
  7. New Layout & Forum Software

Hi sjp, Our old forum layout dated from a time when we had hundreds, sometimes thousands of new posts every day. Now we only get a few dozen posts a day we felt it was better to concentrate the activity in just a few forums to encourage interaction and make it easier for new users to find posts that interest them.
  8. New Layout & Forum Software

Hi Soapdragon, We haven't changed the default sort order - if you find your posts aren't appearing with the newest post at the top of the list, have a look at the bottom of the page and you'll see a couple of drop-down boxes for 'sort by'. Set those to 'Post Time' and 'Descending' and click 'go' and it should be back to normal!
  9. Hi mullethunter, The door opens inward so that when you pull it closed, the locking loops on the door poke through the mesh of the run, ready for the door pin to slide through them and lock the door closed. We tried several prototypes that opened both inward and outward and found this to be the best combination. The Run Door Self Fit Kit is compatible with the Cube MK1, Cube MK2, Go, Eglu Go Up and all varieties of Omlet WIR. If you have a look at the product page, the fifth picture is a useful diagram that shows some of the installation positions we tested, including under the Cube (Admittedly a MK2 Cube, but the same position works fine on a Mk1). Hope that's useful!
  10. Forum Updates February 2018

I'm currently in the process of consolidating several of our boards to make room for a few new ones and make it easier for people to find and participate in active threads. Most posts should have been moved to another board, but if you spot any that have gone missing, please let me know.
  11. Hi Everyone, Over the next week we'll be making some changes to the forum. These changes will hopefully encourage more people to use forum by making it easier to navigate and more mobile-friendly. These changes will include a software update, a new skin and some consolidation of boards, so if you notice any major changes it's nothing to worry about! Thanks, Matt
  12. Forum Upgrades

Hi All, Sorry for the downtime today. We're in the process of upgrading our forum software at the moment and it's proving more challenging than expected. Before we can make the new version of the software live, we have to update all the posts in the database. Since there are some 1.1 million (!) posts and the update script provided with the new software is rather slow, it looks like this will take around 8 hours to complete. We began this process today, but abandoned it when it became apparent how long it would take. Our new plan is that we will take the forum down around 10.00pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday), run the updates overnight and then bring the forum back online Thursday morning. Thanks for your patience, Matt
  13. Forum warning (tech) problem

I've removed the avatar in question, so the error shouldn't pop up again. Matt
  14. 'Fatal Error'?

It was indeed a bug in our banner advert code - hopefully it should be fixed now! Matt
