  11. Well done Oddly my mums loft was virtually empty when we had to clear her place after when she passed away but her collection of dust collectors and nick knacks in every room were a whole other matter It's a wonder our house hasn't dropped through the foundations with amount of rubbish that's gone into our loft especially with four children And DH the hoarder Not to mention DS has two homes and has still managed to leave stuff in our loft and spare room I'm sure it's hereditary I shudder to think what's been stuck up there since moving in here in 1990 I'm pretty sure some came with us from the previous house of 11 years too but I can hold my head up and say very little up there's mine only because I am terrified of lofts and ladders I have made the odd mention about skips on the drive which have fallen on deaf ears I guess when we eventually move again he and children will have to de clutter there hoards
  12. Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to comment I would like to think the majority of holiday renters are like us I left our caravan today immaculate I'm talking old toothbrush and vinegar round the shower cabinet cracks and crevices and the next person there is me My old next door neighbour used to say its easy to be dirty but you have to work hard to be clean There is nothing currently in the price range we want to invest in and summer and is not the time to buy we will continue to watch the market there whilst carrying on saving and renting out here until the right investment property comes along. We do think there are more positives than negatives and it is an exceptional investment area so Watch this space
  13. Honestly soapdragon there's nothing posh about them at all there simply a shed on stilts you can't stay in them overnight they don't have running water I think its more of a status thing. I guess to some folk £60k is a drop in the ocean there's not as queer as folk my mum used to say
  14. soapdragon Its Wells-next-the-sea North Norfolk where currently beach huts sell for £60K
  15. Me either however nothing surprises me anymore We don't rent out our static caravan as a business even though in peak season we could get £750 a week and £400 off peak and there are a lot of weeks it goes unused as we like it to be available for us and family at the drop of a hat. We do allow our children now adults take there friends and from that some of them have asked to rent it for weekends and such like but we have never found it less than immaculate thankfully, but I guess it makes a difference as others have said when you know its like someone's second home as opposed to a business.
  16. Hope you daughter gets an appointment soon I applied last November and am still waiting another forum I belong to has lots of positive comments about the PIP medicals positive vibes and gentle hugs for your daughter living with pain is so debilitating x
  17. Patsylabrador Congratulations to MS and what a lovely and touching thing I guess it must be a Nepalese custom he must be very well thought of and it always makes you feel very proud as parent.
  18. No not negative at all just what I am after others thoughts and points of view good or bad all much appreciated Daphne the Tax element was one I hadn't even considered so thank you
  19. I can always squeeze in three especially ex batts they are the friendliest girls once you have had them your hooked they really sell themselves they have no fear of humans quite the opposite mine tap my foot to be picked up. They are so rewarding it is an honour to watch them grow there little pale faces and floppy combs soon redden up they feather up and become unrecognisable from the poor little mites you first bring home you will never regret getting them only that you didn't get some sooner
  20. Don't worry all perfectly normal they all make all sorts of different sounds no two are ever the same they will quite often all do the same egg announcement call or alarm call sound one of my pekins does a really annoying screetching noise I am continuously telling her to shush my Buff Orp girl Belle makes a sound none of my current or previous have ever made she sounds like shes laughing she has always done this just unique to her I guess that's chickens for you
  21. Thanks I just love new girls stories especially if there are pics too
  22. Brilliant outcome Jackian Broodies are a persistent pain here too I have had up to three at a time like everyone else I have tried all the methods in the end the dog crate and time is the only way I just have to be as persistent as they are its just the price you have to pay for having cute fluffy bum silkies and pekins broodies are also a magnet for red mites so as mean as it seems it for the whole flocks best interest
  23. Oh the suspense I bet there to busy chicken watching to post
  24. When I first saw the title subject line being omlet which for me equates to any animal related subjects I thought it was in reference to a monetary quote for a pig related product and even though I don't know a thing about pigs I just had to have a nosey I now I realise I know nothing about winnie the pooh as not one of my kids were really interested in him My only winnie the pooh memory was of my two DDs crying because we wouldn't call there new baby brother Christopher Robin instead of Christopher Dennis lol
  25. Don't they just drive you on a slightly different note I got so fed up with leaflets and junk mail that I bought a very obvious bright metal sign stating No Junk Mail and placed it in the most prominent place by the letter box they still post junk through The posters don't half get a surprise if I happen to see it coming through the letter box as I whip open the door shout cant you read and throw the offending junk at them OH said they will think your a nutter I hope so they might think twice about coming back and It makes me feel so much better
