  1. Well, rather amazingly, the sun has come out and we're basking in 7.5 deg It's turned into a beautiful afternoon!
  2. We had some rain in the night and it's cold, grey and damp this morning Yuk!
  3. Don't know but don't care! Enjoying it very much and looking forward to the story lines developing. Tom Hardy on Saturday night TV is a big plus for me too I'm a big fan of Peaky Blinders and love the character he plays in that... known in our house as 'The Bad Baker'! Couldn't wait for this to start when I heard that the same writer was involved.
  4. I would be tactfully straight with them. I would tell them that although you love to see them, that a week is too long to expect your son to sleep on an air bed for and that it can't be comfortable for him. Add that if they would still like to stay for a whole week, that maybe next time they could book into a nearby hotel for 2 or 3 days out of the week. You can dress it up with saying how lovely it is that you all see so much of them and that if you had another bedroom, things would be different... Good luck. It's not easy when you don't want to hurt someone's feelings especially when they are oblivious to the discomfort they are causing. It's not really what you say but the way that you say it
  5. Nothing doing here We had some flurries yesterday afternoon but it had rained so hard earlier in the day that it didn't stick. Bloomin' cold and windy though!
  6. I'm so pleased to hear that it hasn't spread. It must give you a little comfort in a very worrying time. Thoughts are with you xx
  7. Yes, I changed one of my girls names from Sylvia to Stella.... when I remembered after a couple of months of having Sylvia, that I already had a girl with the same name In my defence, the original Sylvia was one of the pekins and they tend to be referred to as "the pekins" because they are a little gang in their own right. New girl has kept the name Sylvia because it had stuck and the pekin is now Stella. Did feel quite guilty though
  8. Lovely day here but very windy. Thankfully calmer than in other parts of the UK though Managed to get the cube cleaned out and changed most of the bedding. It's such a faff when the chooks are all milling around though Still feels fairly mild here for the time of year but maybe all that will change tomorrow...
  9. I haven't got any advice or information to share but just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear your news. I can't believe that your poor Dad had to wait so long for an appointment to see a GP I hope someone will come along soon with something more helpful but just wanted to send you a big virtual hug. Thinking of you xxx
