Epona ..............wow I've been trying to get some eggs for years from Holland without success as keep a couple of Friesins.....I would love to have colours other than the chamois. Do let me know how you get on as I am looking for a cockerel to breed my two from. I got mine from Sailisbury rare breed auction...they usually have these 3rd Saturday of the month.

I really feel for you as I would be a mess if this happened to one of mine. I think the kindest thing to do is to PTS. Have you taken her to the vets to see if cataract (if that how you spell it). Mine had one and the vet said could remove if the other one had the same problem.

Campbells are good for eggs.........however I love my call ducks and although initial a bit loud once settled you would hardly know they are there You need a seperate house for the ducks (although mine never use it) but they can all have the same run. Mine free range together and the ducks have no problem sorting the chickens out , including the cockeral (although he is a big wimp).

Im not an expert.... I found that my call duck girls were very very very noisy when young but then stopped so could be that. Drakes generally have a little curl in their tail but this prob will only be there after 6 months. Check out this website http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/artquacks.htm

Don't know what you mean Mine are white, magpie (drake) and apricot. Can't wait to see what colours the ducklings are. Yes Muscovys can climb.

Muscovy ducks are my favourite...my gran used to keep them...due to lack of space I've gone for my second choice which are call ducks.....they are so comical and such time wasters (two are what Tom and me got from your last year Taz)

7 ducklings hatched Total = 24

3 call ducks. White duck Doris Apricot duck Delilah Magpie drake Desmond ....oh and 12 eggs under Doris due in 21 days

I was just about to write something similar...... My cockerel has what is like a cheesy whitish/yellowish discharge in his ears...its seems to block almost like ear wax......I ready could be mites and that the ear is trying to self clean....I've sprayed him with frontline which vet gave me for another chicken who had bad mite/lice and diatom wasn't clearing up. It does seem to block and I have used a cotton bud dipped in olive oil with some tea tree to soften so can remove. I've also been giving garlic (he loves it!!!) in case ear infection. However after using over 1 week ago it doesn't seem to have stopped. I now have the delightful job of unblocking and cleaning out his ears every evening and morning None of his ladies seem to have it. Not sure if any of the above might be of some help to you

This has brightened up my lunch break as it reminds me of my Anvers who also do beak cleaning of the rest of the flock......anyone would think i didn't feed them Your set up is amazing

Same here...I have 15 girls and had first egg today for about a week......it was nice and warm thanks to Olive my pekin being broody

Poor little thing....at least she had good last 2 months of life. xx
