  11. Hi, Thanks for all your replies Those sticks don't have good reviews online do they?! I might see of my local pets at home has them! Anyone with any more advice on veg or herbs? Thanks in advance
  12. Hiya, Thanks for replying! That's interesting about the cucumber and peas! I could seperate a block but they are in that foil thing? So it's difficult? Do you know any plants? Or herbs?
  13. Hi can't see the pics lol We have not long got 2 drakes, in our classic... As I said in another post they are doing fine in their. We rescued them from someone who didn't want them tbh... P.s if your looking for something for them to bathe in when they are let out, ikea do a plastic white under bed storage tub but it's quite big and a good depth too... Just thought you'd like to know lol
  14. Fred and George are doing alright thankyou guys. They are in the run but let out for a few hours daily and have to big under bed storage plastic tubs for bathing in... So funny to watch them clean lol It's a little awkward to clean but with a pressure washer no jobs to big or small hahaha.. They seem ok, we have shelter on the first bit so they can be covered and they seem to be happy. Was filling their baths up the other day and they were loving it lol standing directly in the water spray and puffing up to enjoy the water lol
  15. Hiya all, We have two little cold water danios in a 35L biube. Usually I only feed them every other day and when I do feed them it's only a few flakes as if I feed anymore than that they don't eat it and it just floats around the tank! We are going away for a week and we don't have anyone who will feed them! I've been reading up on putting live plants in the tank (or vegetables and herbs!!!) I don't want to use a food block as it will be too big for the fish to eat and then pollute the water. So I'm looking for advice on if anyone has used vegetables or herbs (!!!) as we have an unlimited amount of them? If so what kind of veg/herb/plants? Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help with this tricky question! J&K
  16. We've just got 2 new ducks, the Aylesbury breed.... We put them in the eglu classic last night and they seem to be alright. Was a little bit of a bother as we think they were stressed etc. Does anyone else have this breed of duck? Ours are 11 months old. Is the eglu classic with a 2M run alright for this type of duck? Gay advice/ comments are welcome Thanks John and kymberley
  17. Thanks Jacquiefrost and Olly, I think I'll save it then till tomorrow and maybe feed them a bit here and there! Xxxx
  18. Hi all, My uncle is giving us 6 hens, I can't believe it really! He's getting rid of them due to work commitments and a house move. They are coming tonight and I was just going to give them some corn and vegetables for a treat. Although just clearing the kitchen from Sunday dinner and I've got loads of sage and onion left over could I give them some of that? It hasn't been near any chicken or on any plates. It just left over in the baking tin Many thanks in advance xxxx
  19. Hiya, was just wondering how your hen became special? We have a white star (Willow), she's a very special hen she was pecked by one of her sisters and went blind in one eye and had a couple infections afterwards and with some medicine and research she's as rights rain..... Willow does hobble around and instead of jumping the little step into the rest of the run area she walks up a big slab at the side and gets up that way... At first she stopped laying I think because of the trauma of what happened and then after a little while we had a lovely little white egg waiting for us in the nesting box Even though she isn't POL as is yours ( good_egg ) I just wanted to share our special hens little story with you and I think that in time and at there own speed they will follow suit and start to lay Good luck with your little Annette
  20. Hi, our hen daisy has developed some signs of being broody She is plucking herself, when she plucks herself she then uses the feathers and the paper underneath and around her to surround her.shes sitting on some of the fertilised eggs we brought and when my wife puts her hand in her space she pecks at her hand and clucks at her if she goes for the eggs underneath her. How long do eggs stay fertile?? Also, Do any hens have trouble on the base of the classic with regards to gripping to stand and walk? Thanks Johnandkymberley
  21. We always leave the door open, only at winter when it's really cold do we closer the door and the latest they are let out in the winter is roughly 8am'ish. We leave the food and water out, we have a Cube (pink) and an egos classic (pink) and with the shades on they are suitably covered and the hens don't make that much noise in the morning. It's entirely upto whether you lock the door or open it in the morning for them at certain times but I'm sure the hens will be alright regardless Good luck
