  1. Hi everyone.

I would welcome some advice as to what chickens to get when ? I see there are so many wonderful breeds but as a complete novice feel a bit overwhelmed :)

I know I want the Cube + 3m run... which will eventually be moved to WIR when constructed. I want I think 3 chickens to start... but as said unsure which breed.

Should I order some from Omlet when placing my order for the Cube or look for some from the area where I live. I have had some advice where there are chickens sellers.

There is so much to take in... and I am so grateful that found this forum so can ask and be pointed in right direction.

I dont want to make any mistakes and want to try to be as informed as possible. xxx

  2. Hi All,

Is the Cube very heavy to move around when its all made up ? Can it be picked up by hubby and myself to be moved easily ? Or is it quite heavy. ?

I ask mainly because if I get my Cube before the WIR is constructed, I will be siting in on our patio and then will have to move it to where the WIR will be once constructed. The new site will be on our top garden. Our garden is split into two levels and access will be via wooden steps that go up about 6ft. So hubby and I will hav to cart the Cube up there to new site.

Am wondering if this is going to be a struggle if the Cube is heavy. ??

Or is it simple to dismantle it all, and then move in pieces ?? Are they easy to take apart ?

    Sorry for the questions :)

    xx

  3. I know - you find yourself repeating the same things all day + forget who you've spoken to!

lol... agree with that 100%. Found this year though although a lot of people asking and taking interest in our products and spending a long time brain picking... not many were spending. Figures were way down compared to other shows. :? Business is tough going at moment.

  4. Hi

no there a bit too far really to collect one, delivery approx 2-3 weeks which is not a problem as have decided want a walk in run (hubby going to sort that out). Have seen all the wonderful designs on here :D

I dont have a vehicle anymore so would have to be delivered to me. If hired a van by time paid the day hire/fuel etc its well worth the delivery charge.

Re the used one on ebay, again I have no way of getting over to take a peek at it. The auction will be over by the time I could feasibly get over to see it.

I am truly getting quite excited of the thought of having chucks in the future....:lol::lol:

  5. Hi ya

I was there but was working on one of the other stands.... when popped to the loos and had a little wander thats when I saw the Omlet products.... and fell in love with the Cube. :D

Was well worth showing there, will be ordering or getting one soon. xxx

  6. Hi

thank you so very much for your replies, its really great on here to get good advice especially for me as so new to the whole concept of chicken keeping.

I have to admit I am still torn between new or used, and can see the merits of both. :D

I am sitting on the fence right now ((see am turning into a chuck :D:D ))

I am watching one on ebay right now, which is fairly close to me and the owner has said can deliver (big bonus). Looks ok in the pics but going to ask a few more questions as suggested in this post.

Thanks again. Will let you know h ow get on. xx

  7. Welcome to the forum Deb :D

Depending where you live you could always take him on a hen party (click courses at the top of the page) and try to convince him that way

    Hi

WOW.. I never noticed that... have looked and found one being held nearish to me so have just emailed the lady doing and fingers crossed will be off to visit soon. :D

Not sure if hubby will come too, but have time to work on that.
