  1. Hi, I just wanted to say sorry for the strange styling problems that have happened on the Forum over the last 24 hours. We've been updating our website and have run into a few glitches with the Forum software. If you notice more problems or need us to fix anything else please email james@omlet.co.uk. Thanks, James
  2. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that we are trialing a new feature on the Forum which allows users to login / register using Facebook, Google, Twitter and Yahoo. We are doing this to encourage more visitors to use the forum. This does not affect existing user logins or registrations. So if you have already registered then just carry on logging in using the Login button on the far right. If you don't have a Facebook, Google, Twitter or Yahoo account then you can still register directly use the Register button the right hand side too. Let me know if you have any problems via email to james@omlet.co.uk Thanks, James
  3. Hey guys, I was just fixing a little bug on the server and saw this post. Don't worry you don't have to buy every Omlet product! We had to design new chickens jackets because our old supplier stop making them and customers still wanted to buy them. The chicken jackets came out of a real practical customer needs but we think products should be fun as well as practical. They have captured the imagination of the press more than anyone thought. There are lots of great new designs, big and small, in the pipe line which will coming out next year. James
  4. Hey, Thanks for letting me know about this. I will have a look into this and see if I can fix it. Could anyone email me a screenshot from their computer when it next happens please? Also does it happen on the main website (omlet.co.uk) or just when you are using the Forum? Thanks, James
  5. Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful blanket that you sent our little baby Alice. Susie and I couldn't believe it when we opened it. There has obviously been so much work put into it and we were really very touched. She is now three weeks old and starting to enjoy kicking around (and assembling Eglu's!) Here is a little photo of her enjoying the blanket this afternoon. Thanks again, you truly are a wonderful bunch and it was fantastic surprise. James, Susie and Alice! p.s. I uploaded the photo to the gallery http://www.omlet.co.uk/club/gallery.php and you can see a larger image there.
  6. Hi, I just wanted to say sorry that the Omlet Forum stopping working on Sunday. One of our servers decided to go wrong in the middle of the night and took a little while to get back up and running again. Sorry for the inconvience causes. Thanks, James

  8. Hi guys, Just to let you know that I'm going to move the Forum onto a new server tonight. So the Forum will unavailable from 11:30PM for about half an hour. I hope this is okay. Thanks, james
  9. Hi, I'm sorry that the Forum has been down yesterday and some of this morning. It was a the classic problem of running out space on the server - as our backup system had gone a little over the top. I have made more space. Let me know if you notice anything odd, Thanks, James james@omlet.co.uk
  10. Hey, I'm sorry for the problem and frustration that it has caused. I'm having a look into why it isn't working properly. I'll pop another post when it is fixed. Thanks, James
  11. Hey, As many of you might have noticed, the Forum hasn't been working properly today. One of our database servers stopped working properly and I repaired it this morning. However, when repairing it I overlooked another problem and it didn't work if you tried to login. So the forum has effectively been down all day. How embarrassing! Hopefully, I have repaired everything now but please let me know if there are any other problems. My email address is james@omlet.co.uk Thanks, James
  12. Opps, I misread your post. Yes, the physical shop is open again and you are welcome to drop in and say hello. We haven't got any Omlet products there at the moment and only have the Forsham range on display.
  13. Forsham won't be selling any of the Eglu / Beehaus products ranges on their website. However, we are updating the website and will increase the range of other items that they sell. The updated website make it easier to find things and have more information on the products.
  14. Don't worry Old Speckled Hen. We are completely commited to keeping the Forsham range in wood. Rob is a fantastic designer and a true craftsman. He is in charge of designing and building the houses in wood - just like always.
  15. Hi, We are pleased to announce that Forsham Cottage Arks has been acquired by Omlet. Forsham Cottage Arks was founded in 1979 by Rob and Cindy Pellett. Over the past 32 years, they have built an outstanding reputation for the manufacture of traditional animal housing including chicken houses, dovecotes, duck rafts, and much more. Forsham Cottage Arks will now be run as a separate division of Omlet, with Rob Pellett continuing to oversee the design and production of the Forsham range. We believe the two companies compliment each other really well as both produce well designed and long lasting animal housing. We have a shared goal of bringing great design, enjoyment and fantastic customer service to people who want to keep chickens and other pets. We are very excited about the future and look forward to hearing your comments. If you have any questions, please email me at james@omlet.co.uk. James

Welcome! I'm afraid that at the moment we haven't worked out a good way of moving the old threads over and after much scratching of heads, we have had to give up. However, on a positive note, I don't think it'll take long before this area fills up with topics and we are not going to take down the old site for a quite a while, so it can be referenced if you want James
  17. Hi, I just wanted to say sorry for the downtime on the Forum. We have now moved the Forum to a new faster server - but we didn't quite get the configuration right, so had to lock everyone out while we fixed it. Anyhow, the Forum should be up again for another year without problems James p.s. If you notice anything strange or unexpected don't hesitate to pop me an email and we will hop right on it. My email address is james@omlet.co.uk
  18. Dear Ecudu, Thanks for your post. You seem to be missing the point of the Eglu which gives the rabbits much more space than a traditional hutch and really does keep the fox out ( as 1000's of Eglu owners prove ). Regarding size - The Eglu far exceeds the RSPCA requirements and is in fact used in many of their centres and other animal rescue centres. The RSPCA doesn't have a product stamp of approval or I am sure that the Eglu would receive such a stamp. The figure for size you are quoting is the inside space of the house. The actual eglu dimensions are: 9ft * 3ft * 2.5ft - which is roughly double the RSPCA recommended amount of space. Regarding Fox proofing - The eglu has an anti-tunnel plate around the sides of the run and so unlike a normal hutch the rabbit is free to be outside or inside whenever it chooses. This is much more natural than keeping the rabbits indoor all the time. You can read more about this here: http://www.omlet.co.uk/products_services/products_services.php?cat=Eglu+For+Rabbits&subcat=Secure+Run I hope this helps clear up the misunderstanding, Yours, James
  19. Hi, 1) Space Chick - Thanks for the feedback. We have fixed the bug which was stopping you from emailing course attendees. We have also fixed the problem which was spotting feedback from being shown in the course area. 2) chickychickychick-ENN - Thanks for your feedback regarding the new Club homepage. I agree with the points you make. I think that it might be better if we didn't post the nesting box comments but perhaps only ones relating to chickens, rabbits and bees perhaps - which are less personal. I am not sure if there is a setting which will allow people to op-out of the having their comments not shown, but I will look into this. Regarding your point about feedback, the site has been designed completely by listening to lots of comment made to us on the Forum and elsewhere. We are delighted to have feedback and will try and make changes accordingly. We are going to update the style of the Forum shortly - with the new buttons, widening up the site and making the text black. Which should make it smarter and easier to read. Before, we do this however, I will make a post of the Forum asking for input. Thanks once again for the feedback. Keep it coming it is much appreciated! James
  20. Hi Tutti Frutti, Thanks for the feedback. I guess that you might be using Firefox Version 2 - which seems to be having problem rendering the page. Could you check this for me by clicking Help -> About Mozilla Firefox. Thanks, James Also, thanks for the feedback about the mismatched prices. I will get these corrected...
  21. Panic over - I have corrected the price! Sorry about that! If you are looking at prices - all the delivery costs for courier have been reduced on the Go's, Classic and everything else including feed etc. James
  22. Hello, Rather excitingly - we have just flicked the switch on our new website! We have made lots of improvements to the site including updating the navigation, shop, breeds area and lots more. It would be great to get your feedback... what do you think? Visit www.omlet.co.uk and www.omlet.co.uk/shop to see more.... Thanks, James
  23. Hey, Sorry about the downtime, it took slightly longer than I thought to upgrade all the files. Mostly we just fixed some minor bugs with the software - but it would be great if you could let me know if anything behaves strangely / error or something has changed which you don't like etc Thanks, James james@omlet.co.uk
  24. Hi, We are just about the update the forum software. This will take about 30 mins and will happen from 11pm onwards. Sorry for the disruption Yours, James
  25. Hi, I am really sorry to hear about a fox getting into the run of your eglu. It is a very upsetting experience. As you mentioned, this is an especially rare event however it is one that we take very seriously. Thank you for emailing me with your photos and also for taking the time to talk to me. From looking at your photos, it does appear that your eglu is missing two small sections of run mesh that are normally underneath the eglu. These were added to improve the eglu security about two years ago. If you have an eglu and don't have these small pieces of extra mesh then you are still very unlikely to have a fox get into your run. However, if you are concerned and would like to fit them - we have now added these to the shop at cost price: http://www.omlet.co.uk/shop/shop.php?cat=Chicken%20Keeping&sub=Spares&product_id=499 To fit them you can also download the instruction manual on the eglu for details on how to fit them here: http://www.omlet.co.uk/files/public/eglu_instructions_mk2.pdf Regarding photos: I am also sorry that some of the eglu photos are out of date. We are in the process of updating the our website (the launch date for the new improved site is the end this month) and most of photos of all the products are being updated. Yours, James 01295 757 142
