  1. Thank you DM, they are in the kitchen 🙄 not my intention at all. They are very sweet and placid and used to lots of handling. It is very chilly here so think I shall let them bask in the warmth for a few more weeks. They are house trained and seemed to have free range in their last home which won’t be happening with my two dogs already here. I think I shall try and set up the puppy playpen so kids can get in and cuddle Nibbles and Flopsy . I will ring vets and book in for spaying as I do not want any babies. I think they are operating a reduced service with virus at vets so will see. I want to let them settle before more travelling in car.
  2. Hi everyone, to keep children busy and encourage caring for animals we are getting 2 mini lops , rehoming at 5 months, so am guessing an already forgotten Christmas present. They are coming with a large wooden hutch and I am putting them in a large WIR, as I only have 6 chickens they will be in other WIR.. My understanding is these bunnies were kept inside and presumably haven’t got their winter coat. Is it too cold for them at night in their hutch ? With a lot of effort I could clear space in garden shed , would this be best. They are sisters and am intending to get them spayed.
  3. Lovely spring day here too and out putting in some lupins and poppies to make a cottage house border. No more garden centre visits so have ordered a few plants online. Also got a few salad stuff planted in cold frame, this is a first for me so will see how they do.
  4. I always get my loo rolls from amazon , as we are a big family and I think the boys eat the stuff, that and toothpaste. It takes up so much room in shopping trolley it easier to buy in bulk. Our Sainsbury’s was sold out of loo rolls, pasta, rice and paracetamol. Luckily the wine section had no such shortages.
  5. Yes, I woke in the middle of night and thought I couldn’t breathe ! I guess cat tails they will add vaccine to flu jab much like swine flu. From memory once they got vaccine it has been included in a lot of the flu vaccines.
  6. I think it seems we will all eventually catch it and hope for mild symptoms. The unknown is who will need an ICU bed and there aren’t that many and even if they were able to magic up respirators it is a very skilled area of nursing and I don’t think there is the trained staff to cope. I would guess the Italian statistics are more true , I certainly felt China would never give a true account of scale of disaster. It is a worry for those in family that have health issues and if school are on lockdown which seems likely eventually I am not looking forward to 4 bored boys plus 2 bored grandchildren to look after. As we live near the beach I have ordered new buckets and spades off amazon and they can practice the art of buildings sandcastles.
  7. You can always use newspaper squares, I remember my grandmother cutting newspaper squares and putting big needle with string through them to hang in her outside loo.
  8. Although another theory is a research facility, right beside market in Wuhan that uses bats etc for experiments in germ/virus warfare and a researcher was bitten by a tick from a bat that was infected. I suppose never really know for sure. The expected numbers of serious infection are worrying and I can’t see NHS being in position to conjure up ventilators and MRI scanners in a week the way China appeared to do.
  9. It is hard to know what next few weeks will hold PL. I have flight to travel to London next week and have two theatre shows booked. Last week medical officer said UK has 8 cases or thereabouts and you have as much chance of being hit by a meteor as getting Coronavirus in UK now only a few more cases and they are considering closing schools and banning large gatherings. It seems a rapidly changing picture. If government ban travel to certain countries you hopefully wil get money back PL. Did you pay by credit card.? Is it worth trying them?
  10. Hopefully price will come down a bit in the future. Although I would guess when they are mainstream they will need to be taxed to pay for roads and services.
  11. Thank you all. I have read a lot on new VW id3 , and having been a VW owner in the past, starting with an iconic yellow beetle 1303S ( I wish I still had her ) I think I fancy that one. It’s range is excellent and it is apparently to revolutionise the electric car industry in much the same way the beetle became the people’s car. Having made this decision I am gutted to find out everyone coming to U.K. in the summer has been booked with deposits paid and I can only go on a list I in case someone changes their mind or doesn’t like the colour they have been offered. He didn’t say how many was on the list waiting for someone to drop out but I will ring on Monday to see. Re house , it should be easy to put charger in as electric metre is against outside wall where car will be parked.
  12. Hi everyone, I am changing my car shortly and was thinking of getting an electric car, I only do short runs to meet friends etc and certainly wouldn’t need to be doing a 100 + miles. I usually hold on to my cars for around 10 years and with changes coming in and thinking environmentally I reckon it would be a good thing. I don’t know anyone with electric car. Does anyone here have one and could give their thoughts please .Many thanks.
  13. Hi SeramaSilly ,we have walk in run and put a paving slab under perimeter, so about 6 inches of slab either side of run structure. On outside part we embedded a piece of wire meld into grass so prob about 18 inches of defence. We got rats burrowing underneath and coming up in the small bit of earth we left for scratching etc. We ended up slabbing it all. Not what you wanted to hear I’m sure.
  14. Catch up T V , Ali’s Girls. I found Wisting on catch up and really enjoyed it. Detective / murder stuff. Also Rebecka Martinsson , another Scandinavian detective. Hope you feel better soon.
  15. Hi Microstead, I can’t do click links, but if you type camouflage into search bar at top. It will bring up a guy Neil who kept us up to date with painting he did on ,from memory a cube. He advises on paint in his posts.
  16. Hi Microstead, you may be able to shift rust with either white vinegar or WD 40. It is hard work, spray on, leave and scrub with wire brush or toothbrush. Re bleaching, I have cube and the girls roost on top, it is the ammonia from pooh that is whitening the colour not the sun. I haven’t put any film on top but would be interested to hear what others do.
  17. Is it worth contacting buyer, maybe they still have it.
  18. Bliain Nua Shona from the Emerald Isle. I also love to hear of everyone’s adventures. It will be early to bed here as I’ve been up since 6 . Other half had to drive daughter and her dog to Dublin as she was catching ferry to Holyhead, they have just arrived back in Watford . Meanwhile I have done about 7 washes and packed away most of Christmas decorations. Last to go will be real tree tomorrow then I will get hinching. B and M bargains also visited for pink stuff, Zoflora and vinegar spray. I am exhausted thinking about it.
  19. Would you consider a Walk in Run. I have a Flyte so fancy WIR on concrete slabs. We live beside a country park with foxes and keep a cube and classic inside the run, so far we haven’t had any problem.
  20. I have a Flyte so Fancy walk in run. It sits on paving slabs, it is good sturdy weld mesh and fingers crossed no rats.
