  1. Hi everyone, I’ve been scouring the net for answers for months. I have spent quite literally a fortune on a cube and walk in run, including a few gutter edge covers. After a few snatching incidents top security was paramount. However, the reality of torrential, endless Scottish rain is very true, and my run is still almost completely drenched after a good downpour despite being in a sheltered corner. The gutter edge works fine, but the water then just runs right in (like a stream) from the bottom parts. I’m reluctant to spend yet another £100 on more covers to still have the same issues. Thinking of trying to build an additional roof structure with decent guttering. Has anyone done this, or had success moulding ondulin panels to the current structure? the run is 2x4m, on a slabbed surface with added drainage gaps, and covered in wood chips. The drainage is less of an issue, it’s the dry area I’m after. Pumpkin the grumpy wee pekin would be ever so thankful for anyone’s advice. Her Orpington sisters really couldn’t give a toss. Many thanks!
  2. My chicken is standing on one leg with one eye closed not leaving the coop. After prompting repeatedly she left the coop and is acting normal other then rubbing the eye that was closed every few minutes. She is usually the first out of the coop. Everything else looks good. She is a 7 month old Rhode Island Red
  3. Hello, I hope I'm in the right place! My husband and I have decided to get som chickens and are really excited. We have been give conflicting advice on different breeds best for beginners, we really wanted Pekins but have been told they are too broody and difficult for beginners and by someone else they are great. Can anyone offer any advice? We have a decent sized garden with plenty of shrubs surrounding it, not just grass. Is it better to get larger foul? I should also mention we have a dog....he's quite strong minded but gets used to other animals quickly...he's great with my parents cats and we're hoping he will learn to protect the hens. Thanks in advance! Bev
  4. We have a problem with our order and have emailed and called customer service 4 times over the past 2 days, leaving messages to please call back each time but no returned call. Concerned about the product when we cannot even reach the company. Anyone else have customer service or warranty issues?
