  1. Selling due to upgrade to walk-in run. Fully dismantled, comes with lots of additional run clips. £50 ono.
  2. Hi all, I am considering getting an Eglu Go Up and raising 3 chickens in our back garden. However, the sides of the garden have sleeper logs on both sides with raised bed, that are not easily removable (they go under decking). We know that the Eglu Go Up dimensions are 144cm x 218cm, the grassy area next to the sleeper log we would for Eglu is 130cm x 360cm. Width is mainly limited by where the steps are, we could potentially move the steps. I have attached a picture of the area below (ignore the growth, we're in the process of tidying it up), we are thinking of putting Eglu on the green grass. Questions we are wondering about are: is it possible to put the run on a step (the sleeper log) on one side? is it possible to not put the skirting on one side? (if we fix the run to the sleeper, foxes shouldn't get in, as it's dug deep into ground). If anyone has any other advice - we would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance. Julius
  3. Eglu classic with 2metre run, wooden roosting bars and glug/grub £200 collection only from Norwich
  4. About to buy an Eglu Go! Whoop! My game plan is to set it in a run that I make using the structure of this banister (see img link below). Cover in chicken wire that I dig down a bit for foxes. Make a roof for eagles/dogs protection that I can take off so I can get inside to clean etc Set the Eglu at point A for ease of access. The structure is about 90cm high and a few forums seem to say 1m meter would be better for chicken welfare so I could dig down a bit, built it up a bit or make a triangle shaped roof. Only planning on getting two chickens if that is a factor. Any holes in my plan? Completely new to this so open to all and any idea/feedback just trying to get learned advice so that I only have to make the run once rather than learn something and then have to remake it Here is a very rough idea
  5. Hello I'm after a Classic 2m run, ideally with a cover, but would consider one without. Thanks for looking
  6. Hi everyone. Just wanted some advice on run floor material. I currently use hardwood chips but wondered if anyone used easichick in the run. My run has a roof on it so it doesn’t get wet unless super heavy rain and wind. The run is also placed on soil, would this be a problem for easichick? Thank you in advance:)
  7. Hi, I am looking to create a large run for my hens as I am able to offer them a large section of my garden, I need to keep them closed off to protect my vegetable and flower garden. I would love aviary panels to create a walk-in run. Thank you.
  8. A local tree surgeon dropped off a substantial amount of (free) wood chips from a pine tree to go in our 3m paved run. There are leaves, some pine needles and some bark mixed in not a huge amount but it is there.I’m concerned that it’s not as cleanly processed as the bought hard wood chip, I’m reluctant to pay £100 for the deluxe play grade wood chip but obviously would if there was any risk to the chickens? I’m aware of spores in bark and the impact on the chickens respiratory system so some guidance would be appreciated on if I can use, even short term?
  9. I have the Go coop just wanting a run to make it more chick friendly. I'm in Leeds but can travel a bit. Be glad to hear from anyone who can help me.
  10. I have a brand new Omlet Classic (lucky me!) but no run (😥). A 2 m run with 1 m extension was ordered from Omlet literally MONTHS ago but although the covers arrived the actual run seems to be lost as no-one can track it down. It may someday turn up. Who knows? I have been offered the chance to buy a second hand run which would be a perfect solution. But does anyone know if the old runs fit onto the new Classics? I have asked Omlet but they haven't got back to me. Perhaps because they still want to charge me for the one that hasn't turned up 😂 Thank you.
  11. Hello, I was wondering how old my chicks should be before I put them out in the eglu cube with the 6' run? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, how do I teach them to go up to the roost so I can enclose them at night once I start putting them in the run?

  18. Have missed two on eBay this week. There are foxes in my area that have decimated my free-range flock in the last month. Looking for a walk-in run so I can keep the rest safe as the evenings get darker. I’m based in mid-Wales but willing to travel if price is right. Thank you.
  19. Hello all, Total newbie here hoping to get our first chickens in mid-March. We have the Eglu Cube with a 3 m run. We have been advised that, if we don't want to move it - wood chip is a good way to go and to do this properly we should put some weed barrier down etc. We wondered if anyone had any advice/recommendations/photos of their set ups to give us some ideas and inspiration!!! Thanks in advance,
  20. I’m really hoping that some of you have better memories or forum search skills than me.. Years ago, there was a discussion on how to make the original MK1 cube run more accessible for cleaning. Someone came up with a way of opening the full height of the run-end as a door to get inside. I never bothered as I was moving the run around the garden regularly and had a little person who fitted through the tiny door. Years on, the tiny person is as big as me and my shoulders protest at moving a cube with 3m of run. Does anyone still know how to convert the end of the run into a door? (I searched but got a hit number that was bigger than my bank balance) Thanks
  21. Hi, I'm on the hunt for a cube (Mk 1 preferred) with at least 3 metre run. We are in Croydon/South London so can consider areas close-by (Surrey etc) or can send a courier if the right set up is available.
  22. Hi guys, I am in Llanelli, but willing to travel within 50 miles to collect an Omlet set up. Preferably Classic or Cube with run and even an inclosure if available. Would like water and food containers etc.. if possible. Any extras greatly appreciated. Price needs to be reasonable for the product. Some people don't realise that Omlet are giving 20% off at shows and are asking too much money for us. As an example a Brand New Cube with 2 metre run is £600 delivered by Omlet if you attend any show that they are at. And obviously the classic is cheaper. Please feel free to send me any information or photos or call or message me. We will even take female chickens with the set-up if you are looking to rehome a loved pet. Thanks. Matthew
  23. Hi all, Been thinking about keeping chickens for years but, for one reason or another, I never took the plunge. Recently, we have - we set up an eglu classic on hard wood chippings and yesterday we brought home two hens (a Warren and a Light Sussex). I'm wondering how to clean the hard wood chippings - we've been picking out the bits we can see at the front of the run, but the other end is so hard to get to - really not happy with the run compared to the eglu itself. We've raked over, picked up big bits of poo and we've put Stalosan down too. Should we hose/watering can the chips at night maybe? Would it be worth putting easichick down on top of the chips? Feeling a bit anxious as we have a small garden with neighbours close by and I want the run and coop clean so there's no smells - we're already getting lots of flies and it's only the first 24 hours (think it's because it's so dry and hot at the moment though). Thanks in advance for your help.
  24. So I officially completed our WIR and Eglu set up which we started last November. I would love to see other people's WIR setups - I got a lot of ideas for this one from the old WIR photo thread, it was so lovely to see everyone's creative DIY adventures and how people had solved problems such as connecting the Eglu to a wooden run. We made it all from scratch with the help of my lovely FIL. It's about 17ft long and 4.5 ft wide. It cost us more than we initially thought - about £400 but worth every penny. It has a 1ft internal wire skirt as protection from digging foxes which is pegged down with plastic ground pegs so they don't rust. The gutter leads to a water butt with a gravity fed drip-line waterer for the back border of the garden which gets very dry. We also got a Hentronix door opener which we LOVE. The Aubiose bedding is amazing - it looks a bit messy at the moment as it has some old bark chippings mixed in which is what the hens were on previously. Future plans are to add some fairylights using the Hentronix battery and possibly a little shelf level that they can sit (and probably poop) on. The ladies love it. Unfortunately my original beautiful trio of ladies only got to enjoy it for a few months before the fox attack But Rita and Megatron seem to be enjoying it and they deserve the best after living the first 70 weeks of their life inside. Excuse the garden mess - the wheelbarrow and blue tarp are covering up the summer veg patch and we are having the patio re-laid. We've had kerb stones around the coop which makes it look really neat and keeps all of the decorative woodchip in place. Enjoy! Please share photos of your set-ups and WIR's for inspiration!
