Eyren Posted March 10, 2008 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I give mine something "extra" most days, but I try to keep the fattening treats (rice, pasta, bananas, sweetcorn, etc) down to a couple of times a week. The other days they get something a bit healthier, e.g. * leftover salad or leafy veg - no calories to speak of but good for yolk colour * a very small amount of cut maize scattered about to scratch for - keeps them busy and uses up a fair bit of energy in the process! * a piece of higher fibre fruit to peck at (e.g. a small apple) - ditto, plus good for vitamins * layers' mash porridge mixed with plain yogurt and tuna - good on cold days, esp if you make the porridge part with warm water Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
