thanks does it only work with damsons? what fruit do you recommend to try it with? I think my mum did something similar with prunes onces and they were lovely. I don't think I've ever eaten a damson but my husband's mum is buying us a damson tree soon

 

Only done it with sloes and damsons but can't see why it won't work with most fruits. Looking to do blackberry vodka this year and certainly expect to use the fruit for chocies after.

Not exactly a fruit recipe but have you tried Toffee Vodka?

A large bag of Werthers Original toffees in a bottle of vodka. Give the occasional shake for a couple of days till dissolved then keep in freezer. Must be served from the freezer otherwise it goes watery and divides.

my friend gave me some for chirstmas, we kept it in the fridge and then just shook it before we served it, it didn't last long

You could make a boozy rubarb relish although I've no idea how. I bet it would go really nice with a bit of pork if you eat meat or cheese.

Been mulling the boozy fruit chocolate idea over. If you were to do Damsons or cherries in alcohol could you freeze the fruit and save it untill you wanted to make chocolate.

Was thinking cherries in the summer in brandy then saving the cherries for xmas choccies.

Just read that the rhubarb takes up to 6 months. Does anyone know if cherries are all right for that long. If so probably wouldnt need to freeze anyway.
