thehallfamily
Hi We have transferred our bunny to the Eg/rablu!! Hubby has put wire on the bottom of the run as Sybil is a ferocious digger, and changed insides from Chicken to Rabbit!! Sybil loves it, she has freedom and a new boyfriend!! We have just got a black rescue rabbit to keep her company. After a lot of ahem getting to know each other they are best of friends!!! And as for our wooden ark, we are going for electric fencing to stop Mr Fox ...yes yes I know we said that we would not have any chickens again. But truth is I miss them, hate buying eggs even if they are pretty blue Wairose ones! Soooo we are getting 6 Battery rescue hens!! and safe fencing. Apparently the ones rescued here in Lincolnshire are not de-beaked, have all their feathers, are only 18 months old and have only been kept 4 to a cage, so they are not in dire need of recovery...just good homes. And I am ashamed to say that the guy who works for the BHWT was not very complimentary about my eglu!! Much keener for my rescue girls to go in wooden housing Angela
Popcorn
Arr...what a lovely post Angela. Good news for bunny and chooks. What-ever housing you decide upon is your choice and each has their own individual qualities to suit. Most importantly, it's giving those chickies a new lease of life. PurpleHen
Angela - that is such good news, I'm glad you are getting hens again. As for the man from BHWT - although everyone has their own views, he should be grateful to the Eglu - because of that many many more peoplea re interested in keeping hens and so many from this forum alone have progressed onto rescuing ex battery hens. Never mind - we know most people at the BHWT are just thankful for our help

thehallfamily
Hi there, yes we had Sybil 'done' when she was old enough, and the rescue centre did Basil for free so he was not such a bother for her!! Mind you to watch them you would think hormones were raging!! Lets hope that the vet did his job well!!
The Dogmother
It's a dominance thing! And not in a kinky way (let's hope grd is too busy to get on the forum ). I have two sisters and they are always up to unspeakable things It is important to get them done, because girls have an 88% chance of getting uterine cancer. And boy rabbits who haven't had their pockets picked will be aggressive and hump anyhting

Jane Howorth , the founder, supports Omlet and the Eglu so the message has most probably not got to all areas and all coordinators and volunteers.. I will make sure I get this sorted out when I next speak to Jane, I now work for the charity Take it from me as an Eglu owner and biggest fan, the Eglu is ideal.
