Should I be power washing my eglu?

Recommended Posts

Redmite lives on wood so I'm assuming I won't get them in the actual eglu :?

They can, as we found out to our cost.

Can anybody recommend a fairly low-cost, basic power washer? I was trying to find the post someone did recently about a Woolworths (I think?) offer but couldn't track it down.

Try B&Q Vicki, My dad just bought me a replacement one from there McSomethingorother, coudl be Mc Allister. It was only about £40 I think and goes really well. Has little wheels too, which save my back carrying it.

They can, as we found out to our cost. However now we're just more vigilant, and got some proper anti-red mite cleaning liquid: you don't need a power-washer! The most important thing we found was wearing glasses

Kannie, which liquid did you use - some Omleteers might be interested?

My eglus only been cleaned twice (it is only 2 weeks old before you all balk in horror), I just used the hosepipe because like so many have mentioned PW's are a pain to get out, but I shall now use it at the weekend.

Can I just ask a question on the inside of the eglu roof, there is a little hole, through which you can see the insulataion - is this normal? I have assumed it is part of the moulding process, but didn't know if there should be a stopper or something :?:
