Rose back on DrWho

Recommended Posts

I think Billie has a brace behind her teeth - my neighbour decided to go the same route and was a bit "slushy" until she got used to it (or perhaps we got used to the sound).

I am fed up with Donna because she cries in nearly every episode - bar 2 and one of those she wasn't really in (last week). Seems that they are pushing her ability to produce tears at will.

Bring back the other girls, I say and hopefully these mournful episodes will improve. I'm almost at the stage where I can't be "bovvered" to watch the next programme - pity because it used to be good.

Billies' speech- hubby said that he read somewhere that as she hadn't played Rose for such a long time she found it hard to get the accent & also to get back into the character.

I am finding DW quite depressing watching at the mo with its storylines :?

I was wondering about her speech too. She seemed to be having trouble opening her mouth. I wasent sure if she was just supposed to be all depressing because of the characters circumstance. My daughter loves Rose and would have hoped to see her back in a cheery all action roll. It is getting a bit heavy going. My kids watch it in silence with their mouths open mostly.

What was with Billies mouth/speech?

We wondered that too?

Her speech was very strange & lispy, wasn't it?

I am not a Donna fan either - she is far too wet to be a good assistant to the Doc 8)

Rose became a grotesque parody of herself with the huge lips and unfeasibly dark eyebrows collar&cuffs girl!! long ago! now developed a weird speech impediment!

I love Donna in that role - but then I always liked Catherine Tate - and i know soooooooooo many people who sound exactly like her! - but I still reckon Martha pips it....

I think the Dr Who team have been fab at casting each different character. Each time someone has changed it has taken a couple of episodes to get used to them but they have drawn us in :D

I am not a Catherine Tate fan and was very disappointed when she became the assistant but she has been great and has really grown into the role and Bernard Cribbins as her grandad is excellent :D

I think Martha is my favourite overall, pretty scary when cloned though

I loved Christopher Eccleston, but David Tennant is even better, well done Dr who team :D

OH and I wondered about the way Rose was talking. I did actually say to OH that I though she could do with a brace

We really enjoyed last week's DW - thought it was good with the scary copying bit. I really like the actress that played her - can't think of her name but she was in Clocking Off.

We love Rose and Martha but I'm afraid none of us are too keen on Donna. In fact we were in tears when Rose left and when Martha went. I can't believe they thought Martha and the Doctor had no charissma (sp?) together. If that was the reason she left?

She played Trudy I think - that was a cracking good series - and the first time I became aware of Philip Glenister - now world famous for Life on Mars!

also in that Dr Who was the actress who plays Kyla Tyson in Holby City - the air-stewardess..

very sad this "what-was-she-in" spotting! drives our kids nuts!

I was going to mention Philip Glenister but couldn't remember which Glenister brother it was - Philip or Robert (she said hoping thats right!?!). He is great in Clocking Off and I loved him in Life on Mars. I didn't watch all of Ashes as I didn't like the female lead.

I am so looking forward to the 2-part season finale! The Doctor and Captain Jack back together?

David Tennant is the best Doctor by far, and believe me, I've seen every episode from the first one with William Hartnell (Patrick Troughton was my fave till DT). My first thought on Rose was that Billie had braces on. The speech was a little distracting. Catherine Tate hasn't been as annoying as I thought she might be. I still like Martha better though and I am so pleased Sarah Jane is back. I actually watched "The Sarah Jane Mysteries" on CBBC and thought they were very good.

I love any Dalek episodes. They terrified me as a child and I still get that frisson when I see them. Roll on Saturday!
