Lisa
Hi I was told to come home from work on Thursday as I was still struggling with a dreadful cold and no voice , which does not help when trying to teach. However, just before I left I put a piece of paper down and my back went . I could hardly move and it took 3 hours to get to the car and home again!!! I thought it would just need a little rest but I am hobbling around like an 80 year old. Struggling to get up and down, as the pain is in the lower back, and walking is dreadful - my sympathetic husband keeps laughing at me!!! Hopefully it will be on the mend soon. On a positive note it has given me a chance to do some more research about my family tree, which has been really interesting. I am getting further than I thought I would be able to - possibly 1510 on my husbands side of the family and into the 1700's with mine. We did have our first 3 egg day (Cleo's first) so that cheered me up a bit. Sorry to whine but I it helps!!!
Janty
It's horrible being in pain. You have every right to feel sorry for yourself especially if your hubby is laughing...they are pigs for that sort of thing aren't they? What age range do you teach? I'm at a middle school (9-13 year olds).
Lesley
Sorry to hear that lisa - but plenty going on to cheer you up as well Can you get to see a chiropractor or osteopath? - they will help you a great deal if you can. Worth every penny in my book.
Lisa
Janty I teach the 11 - 16 year olds. They have been really kind and helpful all week which is lovely . My DH has been making me tea and said he will clean the girls out for me as well so he is not all bad. Lesley If it is no better by Monday I will see the docs and then maybe do as you advise! Thanks
Egluntyne
I can sympathise over the back. Ice packs, Ibruprofen and a tens machine will help it settle. Any skeletons in the family cupboard?
Lisa
DH is just getting the tens machine - he has had back problems too!! Thanks for the advice Egluntine!

LisaP
Hugs and sympathy from one Lisa to another I had a similar thing a couple of years back - had a bad cold, got up one morning, sneezed and my back went and I couldn't move Luckily I was seen by a very good local GP and he cracked my back back into place. The noise was quite frightening but it did sort it out Hope yours is better soon but if not, it might be worth seeing someone. theherd123
How you feeling today? A good nights sleep always seems to help - did you manage to get one? Hope you feel back on form soon
Omletina Kyckling
Oooohhh you poor thing, I hope it's better soon....I remember years ago I put my back out coughing when I had a bad chest infection and it was awful, I couldn't stand up straight and was limping around in an arched position for weeks. Sending you lots of healing hugs....
Lisa
Thanks for all the hugs! I have been using a tens machine since yesterday lunchtime and it is enabling me to move around. This si stopping me from seizing up! I think I will pop into the docs tomorrow and get it checked out. It is improving but I want to be sure that I wont make it even worse before I go back to work! Thanks again to all of you. I must admit when I read about Cinnamon's adventures in front of the web cam I laughed so much I thought I would put it back to square 1 - sorry Cinnamon but it was funny!! Take care
