Snowy
One of the lovely count down's to Christmas is the advent calander. There's always a squabble over the choccies and the candle sometimes gets burnt more than it should and other times, forgets to get burnt. The Omlet forum is going to have it's very own advent calendar. It's not like the traditional calendars where you don't quite know what's behind the door. Each day has a designated theme and as many people as want to can add a relevant picture to the thread. You can add every day if you want a challange! (so on Monday 1st december all photo's added must be robins on Tuesday 2nd all photos must be snowmen etc) As an extra challenge - see if you can include some kind of chickeny reference in every picture!! The details are: 1st - robin 2nd - snowman 3rd - Christmas pudding 4th - Angel 5th - candle 6th - bell 7th - candy cane 8th - present 9th - holly 10th - bauble 11th - carol singer 12th - turkey 13th - lantern 14th - snowflake 15th - mistletoe 16th - shepherds 17th - Christmas tree 18th - Christmas cake 19th - 3 kings 20th - star 21st - winter wonderland 22nd - happy families 23rd - Christmas carols 24th - Nativity Get your thinking caps on as the challange begins tomorrow!! Chickvic
This is a robin we found at Cheney Mill House farm in Hayle, Cornwall. This is my DD's first meeting with chickens en masse at the same time!

Cate in NZ
Great idea Snowy Trying to be seasonal, but with an antipodean twist I entered New Zealand Robin into google and came up with this unpreposessing little fellow. No redbreasts down here I'm afraid (can't figure out why...the sun's a scorcher, I've got a redder neckline than I'm actually proud of after spending too long in the garden yesterday ). But here you go: And if you want to find out more about him, well here's your link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Robin But, my favourite Robin ever is definitely Sarf London...Peckham to be precise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYq-Ljwov_s

laurmurf
An American Robin - you can imagine the first English settlers coming arriving after the long sea journey, seeing this red-breasted thrush and it reminding them of the cheeky little chaps from home, a long way away... OH suggested photoshopping a chicken into the bowl to stick with the theme, but we dont have photoshop
