I am begining to ponder the placement of my eglus within my walk in run. They have to both be on the same wall so as they are facing away from the prevailing wind and to allow for egg port access.

My question is how much space do the ladies require in front of their ladder (in this case a cube ladder attached to a table on which the eglu will sit) to be able to enter and exit comfortably - don't want them feeling they haven't got enough of a run at it in either direction, don't want them crashing into the run walls on exit... or hesitant to enter because they haven't got a sufficient run at the ladder before they start their ascent!

My current problem is I plan to have one eglu up against a wall which means swivelling it for access to poo tray... if I could move it up a bit that would be great...

I was looking at some pictures and indeed there didn't seem to a massive amount of space in front of ladders, and a lot of glugs & grubs seem to be 'at the bottom of the stairs', instead of a full length mirror I suppose, so I'm obviously panicking over nothing and the girls will not go crashing into the walls!

Now where to put the dustbath!
