Ivy

Recommended Posts

I have read different views on whether Ivy is toxic and if so, just how dangerous it really is and how much would need to be ingested to have any effect.

Can anyone shine any light on this please? My hens arrive this week and there is Ivy very close to where the run will be sited!

Thanks!!!

Hi, it is supposed to be bad for them (see this post below)

viewtopic.php?f=42&t=22559

That said, my chooks have ivy, daffodils, rhodedendrons etc in their free range area. They've never nibbled them at all (tried to dig them up though...... but they do eat just about everything else....... bedding plants are just the best :D )

They seem to know what to eat and what not to eat. But if you are really worried you could get rid of it.
