Those that do offer mixed grit - how do you offer it to the hens? Do I need to buy an extra Grub? What else would you recommend?

I use a coop cup like this (you can get them off Ebay). Some people use the ones for bird cages which you can get at Pets At Home.

I have a white plastic ones with metal hooks which go on the bars. One I use for flint grit and the other for oyster shell.

 

I pierced holes in the bottoms of mine though because if the rain blows in they get full of water which can go manky. Now any water just drips straight through

I've got a little grit hopper with a lid... seems to work fine. currently has a mix of diatom and grit, as grit bag split & I had nothing else to put it in except the diatom box!!

We tried the pots as others have suggested but what a surprise my girls weren't keen

 

I now just throw a handful down once a day for her in her run and she pecks about at it during her normal rummaging.
