We had three when we went to bed - and we have four this morning :D:dance:

Three dark and one yellow - we were quite surprised as we didn't think the Black Runner was laying, we didn't think she ever started laying!! Now we know that it must be Mindy, our oldest duck, who has stopped laying.

I've never hatched ducks using the incubator before, they hatch quite differently to hen eggs. Hen eggs seem to take ages......a little hole when they start pipping......a long wait while they enlarge the hole etc. - duck eggs don't seem to be doing anything although you can feel the egg move, go back half an hour later and there is a duckling  I suppose the more porous shell must help.

No - they run away from my hand :D

We have 6 now - three of each colour. The other threee don't appear to be doing anything but I'll leave them a few days yet.

Lauren and Jake have been here and holding the ducklings - they kept running up and over their shoulders so I had to catch them :D

We had a bit of a panic on Thursday evening. You know when you know where something is and so you don't need to go and find it early?..........well, we knew where the heat lamp was so we'd got everything set up except the lamp...........but it wasn't where we thought it was

We couldn't find it yesterday either - and believe me, we have plenty of places to look :? We set them up with a desk lamp for heat and fortunately it has been warm so it wasn't too much of a problem. We've found the lamp and the dull emitter bulb now so they're fine.

We will move them to the big brooder soon - just waiting to see if any more hatch.

The 6 young ducks went to Duckingham Palace No2 - a sectioned off part of the duck run.....

They wouldn't go into their little pond for ages but love it now......we just have a problem getting them to go into the coop.
