Olly
Ah - I guessed that's what happened, I was watching it yesterday having recorded it, and was so frustrated when it cut out just before the end. I am really enjoying it, it gets better and better - I normally don't watch horror movies or anything like this, but it's somehow not so scary because the vampires are 'real' people. Sort of. Griffin
Righty, just got book 9 to finish reading then I'll have read them all. If anybody wants to borrow them, feel free. Oh my giddy aunt! They're brilliant books I think book 4 is my favourite Series 1 follows book 1, series 2 book 2 so there's plenty of material left to make years and years worth of True Blood Has anybody else read them? Olly
Are the books really good? I read somewhere that they're not ... I love the series so much that I'm afraid the books might spoil it.
EmmaJC
Are the books really good? I read somewhere that they're not ... I love the series so much that I'm afraid the books might spoil it. The books are fun actually, they really capture the voice of the South. Don't expect great fiction, because you'll not find it but they are a quick, fun read. Far, far better than the Twilight series, at least with these you're not screaming "Pathetic girl! PATHETIC GIRL!" at each page - Clarissa, ex-batt - Jenniger, ex-batt - Nigella, ex-batt
Griffin
Are the books really good? I read somewhere that they're not ... I love the series so much that I'm afraid the books might spoil it. They are good especially if you love the Sookie/Bill/Eric love triangle. There are some fab new characters introduced too. Others that you see on telly don't feature as much but Alan Ball said they had to flesh out those parts for tv because otherwise Sookie was in every scene. Sookie narrates the books so she's everywhere in those. The tv show doesn't follow the books to the letter, there are some big differences but I actually prefer the way the story goes on the telly in some circumstances. It'll be fun to see where Alan Ball takes the changes he made.

lisa33
I can't read the books as it will totally ruin the tv series for me. I always prefer reading to watching tv /films but rarely find a film or tv show that is as good as the book. I'm really enjoying the tv show so don't want to ruin it for myself. I'll just have to wait a year or two before I read them .
The Dogmother
My boss (who loves the series) has watched it all online now and asks when the next season (number 3 he thinks) will be available.

EmmaJC
I read them all in a fortnight. Pretty much the same here... except for the last one. I got to the bit where the Thing Which Must Not Be Mentioned happened, and had to fling it aside. I only read it when bribed into it by my sister. Those books are Soma, I swear. - Clarissa, ex-batt - Jennifer, ex-batt - Nigella, ex-batt
kitchens
Truly addicted Love True Blood and watched Twilight this afternoon on DVD. I'm Hooked! Edward or Vampire Bill i'm not fussed
Chucky Mama
Are the True Blood books as sexually explicit as the TV series. Wondering if DD could read them but she is only 13 going on 14 and I certainly wouldn't let her watch the TV series. Too saucy for her
Griffin
Not as graphic because it's only through Sookies eyes, so no Jason getting his kit off every few minutes, but there is still a small amount of naughtiness. I wouldn't let a 13 year old read it.
