Raina
Hi all, My mum said yes to a WIR but no to another Eglu,i even asked for one of the new eglus but she still said no but she said i could use the caravan for a coop? Would this be OK? I'm guessing the caravan is Fox Proof lol It is dry but does get cold during the winter and warm in the summer, would this be a Problem? We are currently using it for storage but once we get a shed my mum said i could start doing it up for the chooks Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong section (spent about 5 mins thinking what section to put it in lol)
Redwing
I would buy the shed and continue to use the caravan for storage whilst converting the new shed to a coop! On our field there is a horsebox container that has been converted to a giant chicken coop but we dont use it prefering to stick to proper chicken houses or convert something more suitable such as a dog kennel You would have to look at the longevity of the flooring material, the insulation which may be a place for bugs to hide and the ease of cleaning everything down - wall materials etc.. The cold in winter may not be a problem but condensation might, the heat in summer is certainly a problem Fox resistamt ventilation will need to be added too as the windows and rooflight being left open will compromise security It may be more impractical than you initially think But then I am a pessamist!
