henriette
I have my Mum's wedding dress. My Mum and Dad were married in 1942 so it is very simple but with about twenty little self covered buttons. My Mum was really tiny - she had a 17" waist on her wedding day. 'Fraid I don't take after her in width - just in height!
Mrs Frugal
I got married wearing my Mum's crystal coronet which she wore at her wedding in 1961 and my Grandma's pearl necklace. My oldest item of clothing still in use today are my red Inca gloves which I had when I was 18 and which have been mended over and over again so they are still wearable and I often wear Grandma's lovely diamond engagement ring which I treasure . My christening dress lives in my bedroom cupboard and at 19, Tom still insists on wearing his beloved red fleece top which we bought him when he was 9 . chickencam
Tom still insists on wearing his beloved red fleece top which we bought him when he was 9 . My son has a fleece dressing gown that he had when he was 7, he is now 13 and 5ft 5in and quite chunky. We have just bought him a medium sized gents one, because the rest of the family were fed up of the other one not covering what it should anymore. We have tried this before and he has still worn the old one, so the old one is going to have to take a walk me thinks. I am someone who wears my clothes until they fall apart, then they become allotment clothes and finally end up on a scarecrow. Nothing vintage though. Amazingly yes . It was rather baggy when we bought it for him for football training but he still looks lovely in it, bless him. Chickencam, my boys are just the same with their dressing gowns and I'm sat looking at a parcel containing 2 new ones at the moment. Neither of them want to part with their short, tatty old ones though so it's going to be a bit of a battle making them hand them over .
