bigmommasally
How do you display your wall hanging quilts? I'm making a christmas one (from a panel kit) the finished size is 30inches wide, my plan had been to put a sleeve in the back and hang from one of those fancy wire hangers but I can't find one wide enough. Am I being dumb, is there a simple solution that I haven't thought of?
craftyhunnypie
Don't you make a tube of fabric with a cane & string threaded through it? I think you make it on the back of the top bit? Emma.x
bigmommasally
So do you mean I put a cane through the fabric sleeve then tie it to the wire hanger thingy?
Plum
There are several ways. I make a sleeve an inch or two narrower than the hanging with a bit of slack so it doesn't pull the quilt then put a cane shorter than the quilt through. I then usually put up two pins and hang it from that. Don't tell the quilt police but I have been known to use drawing pins through the sleeve to hang it Not posh enough here to use those nice fancy wire hangers.
