Old Speckled Hen Posted December 15, 2009 Author Share Posted December 15, 2009 The clouds parted just before I went to bed. Saw 20 or so in the half hour I stood outside being buffeted in the wind. Awesome sight. If you look at them where they seem to start they are quite short but elsewhere in the sky they do appear longer. I heard on local radio that some of these shooting stars are caused by particles no bigger than a coffee ground. Seems improbable, somehow.
