rachel m
one of our chickens has been passing some very odd "eggs" delia stopped laying in july, after possible egg drop syndrome, then moulted and is now back to her normal self. her wattles and comb have grown back to normal after shrinking during her illness and moult. nigella has not laid for about 3 weeks now, and is just finishing her moult. she is passing quite watery droppings by day but firmer at night. 10 days ago one of them "laid" this strange object between the roosting bars. when we found it it was the consistency of a bouncy ball and we cut it open, it was a strange pattern inside, but we assumed one of then had lassed a yolk slowly which had slow-cooked inside, then frozen when it got out. we didn't think too much of it, but then it happened again this weekend the same. so we assumed that one of then was trying to start laying again. however this moning we found a larger one which couldn't fall through the roosting bars. this almost looks like it has 2 separate frozen yolk sections inside - a frozen double yolker?? has anyone else had these type of "eggs" before? we are hoping this is acceptable for one about to start laying again, but would appreciate some advice thanks
Saronne
There's a link somewhere, but it looks like a 'lash'. It happens sometimes, and isn't really anything to worry about unless it's happening very frequently. Saronne x
Egluntyne
Most definitely a 'lash'. **Click**

Blackrocksrock
Mine laid a lash about march - may last year and never any eggs since and a lash recently and looks great, red comb - no parasites - no worms have been wormed and ivermectined to death and still nothing! Hope yours starts to lay again - looks like they retain the eggs and they calcify and end up like rubber etc.
