Phosphorus
Wasn't even thinking about this as it is so so cold (although obviously not as bad as it is up in Cheshire/ Manchester way ), however having read posts about first eggs in January...... I have two gold brahmas and one lavender araucana - all with red combs but not really crouching as I've seen yet - ara is still very flighty Hatched in April last year so hopefully of the age now to lay. Any ideas folks - could they really lay their first this early in the year, I originally was thinking March onwards as the weather would warm up. tom123
I would say March onwards too, especially as Brahmas are late developers
Parsley
I have two bantam araucanas and a bantam opington (also late developing breed) all hatched around Easter last year so about the same age as yours. My orp laid her first egg mid December followed exactly a week later by one of the araucanas. The other araucana who was bigger when I got her so in theory probably a few weeks older has been making eggy sounds since September but not a sausage from her. She does keep the other two company when they go in to lay though........! It seems to be down to the individual rather than the breed!
