Gelbel
Grace was being a right madam a few weeks ago so I bumper bit her a few weeks ago as poor Rita was quite bare chested - and in all that snow too. Rita's feathers are growing back nicely. Well they were until I saw Grace has learnt that if she can stand and twist at a strange angle she can still manage to pull a few chest feathers out. Interestingly it's not done in the same viscious manner as before (she can get a right old evil look on her face - honest) but she is still not playing nice. I am going to dig the antipeck spray out but I feel sorry for Rita then if she wants a preen. Any ideas? If she does this in front of me, she will get a squirt of water. But I don't really want to separate her as it makes her madder. All threats of going in the pot have not worked either.
chickencam
They can still get feathers out sometimes with a bit on. I had a White Star who used to pluck her own feathers out, she was a bit crazy. It might be worth trying a pecka block to give her something else to chip away at, but these habits are very hard to break completely. They've got more things to play with than HensRUs. And, would you believe, my 3 turn their beaks up at pekablock.
