lisaroo2
Hi All I've not been on the forum for ages (I do apologise) but I return with some sad news... Unfortunately my husband got up to let the girls out this morning and unfortunately found Daisy dead on the nestbox. It is all very sudden and was quite unexpected as the day before she had been happily pecking with the others. I am very upset and am crying as I type this post as this is also the first pet that I have ever lost. Daisy has been with us for nearly 2 1/2 years and has been to a pleasure and a delight to know and we both feel proud to have had her let us share her little life. A times she had us baffled with how to stop her escaping from her run. She bemused us with her very unique ways and was all in all a star. We will miss her her so much and our garden will never be the same again without her prescence. On a more practical note we now have her body to dispose of and would like to bury her in the garden but are unsure if this is legal or not. Any help and advice with this would be useful. Sorry, gotta go now, this was harder to write than I thought it would be... Lisa
cathybc
Sorry to hear about Daisy, hope you are feeling a bit better this morning. I am pretty sure that others have buried their chooks in their gardens OK. Cathy x
docsquid
Oh, sorry to hear about Daisy. We haven't lost any chooks yet, but I know people do bury them in the garden. We're running out of space thanks to burying a number of cats over the years, so we'll keep the garden for the cats, and have the vet cremate any chooks that we do lose. lisamumof4
RIP Daisy. You're allowed to be upset. We buried Clara in the garden. Dug very deep though about 2 foot down...
lisaroo2
Hi Thanks for your comments. I'm feeling better today and alot less weepy, strange, I didn't realise how attached to her I'd become. Hubbie and I have decided to bury her in the garden and then we know that she's safe. Will really miss her...
