Lesley
Thanks Plum....and CCR...... I've bought a decent set of scales - took the first ones back as I hadn't realised that they only weighed in 1lb increments and I need to know every quarter of a pound - and am quite looking forward to going it alone. I have plenty of recipes/resources and know that this time I will carry on. I agree about WW scales - we only have one set at our meeting but at groups where they have two sets there are always complaints that they are different - so how can they be totally accurate, my sister has this problem at her meetings and we have the same person......she obviously has two sets of scales and I wonder if she brings either set to my meeting I'll never manage a Clash though! - the more exersize I do, the more my weight stays the same I hope you've enjoyed your weekend Clash - and have reached your Target again
Valkyrie
My weight is still hovering around the 15st 7lb mark and it's such a pain. I think it's middle age and I know I'm a little bloated at the moment - my wedding ring was loose and is not quite so for the last week. But in spite of that OH and I have done lots of walking at the weekends (and it's been lovely in the sun), exploring new areas near us. I couldn't get to swimming last week so I went on Monday and again yesterday to get back on track. Yesterday's session was much slower and I was quite tired at the end, but still did my 100 both days (and a couple to wind down). I have a nice new swimsuit too. Unfortunately it doesn't make me look like the model - I'm sending it back.
Lesley
- now, would you really want to look like the model?? I'm sure the weight will start shifting again soon.
Valkyrie
YES!!!!!!!!! She's young! It fluctuates between 15st 4lb and then on the half mark. I know I've lost a lot round the hips as I've got into yet another old pair of jeans that were slightly smaller than the other pair that I bought at the same time (and been wearing both - what joy to have comfort and room to spare)! Plum
Well done, feels so good getting into clothes that used to be tight. Unfortunately I haven't started to lose yet. Having a pretty stressful time at the moment but once equilibrium returns I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will be focused. I will look like the model in your swimsuit
Valkyrie
Stress is a big factor. Had a bit of a time here too just lately, but it's getting better - family-wise. It's just the chickens that yell all day and I'm out racing round the garden trying to keep them quiet. Little Er, think BP might be up a tad. Griffin
Not doing very well Almost two weeks ago my arm started to hurt. I thought I'd slept funny on it but the pain under my arm and in my shoulder just got worse and worse. I was feeling really grotty too but didn't put two and two together. Finally took myself to the doctors last Friday where they decided the tiny cut I had on my elbow three or four weeks ago was responsible for an infection in my arm, and the pain was my lymph nodes going ballistic I've spent the last week on antibiotics and in a painkiller induced haze When I'm not feeling sleepy and away with the fairies I've got the munchies and need to eat and eat and eat and eat I've gained 5 lbs in the last two weeks I still don't feel right and I look awful. So I'm feeling very sorry for myself and very annoyed that I haven't stuck to my diet at all. I wish I could be one of those people who when they're ill eat barely anything at all! Lesley
That sounds really horrible Don't worry about the weight gain, concentrate on feeling well. Five pounds is recoverable and you'll be able to tackle it when you feel better.
Plum
Ow poor you, I would eat too. You haven't given up you've just had a blip and like Lesley says you will get back on track. Please can someone say the same to me

I'm good at telling others that even if slow, it's all in the right direction.......but no good at taking my own advice, I find it extremely frustrating and disheartening at times I did actually lose 1.5 pounds this week (WI day today) - I've joined Slim Buddy but was actually following the Harcombe 5 day phase. I'm using Slim Buddy for the online weight recording and the need to weigh on a specific day and all the hints and tips which keep me enthusiastic. Because of my small losses I have started to compare my losses to blocks of butter, ie 1/2 lb loss is 1 block of butter and therefore I have lost 39 blocks of butter.......imagining that amount of fat stacked up is the amount I have lost from my body incentivises me now! I have a spreadsheet which I plan my meals and record my losses and then weigh in on a Monday - I am following Slimming World. though don't go to classes as they aren't my thing. I find www.minimins.com very useful for info and tips etc.......I'm sure we'll get there in the end!

Clash City Rocker
Now completed six months below target. Weight Watchers target is "no more than two pounds of weight loss per week" so any loss between 0.5lb to 2lb per week is exactly what is required for long term weight loss. 1lb per week weight loss, is over 50lb in a year = 3.5 stone
Lesley
Congratulations Clash .....and a quarter pound per week is around 13 lbs - I should be a stone lighter by Christmas then
abwsco
Well done everyone. Surprisingly I'm still at target. Infact am nearly under my target by the 3lb allowance this week but no idea why mega choccy gravings I gave in to and have eaten two boxes of maltesers and two large bars of galaxy -plus others in the last two weeks

Sheilaz
Well done everyone, we seem to be going in the right direction, and slow and steady is the best for long term benefit. Life gets in the way and there are blips, but this thread is good for motivation so it's never too late to jump back in. I've been wondering how Griffin is, having just seen you posting again after your illness. Are you feeling better and up to the healthy eating topic again? I haven't posted for a while because I know my weight fluctuates by several pounds up and down day by day, so only count a drop when it stays down for a week. I'd like to record the first half stone drop since starting in Jan I'll be very happy if I can maintain and then drop the next by August. My target to lose is 2 stone, or one and a half if it's more realistic. So, very happy that the first third has gone, but I need your help maintaining! I do feel motivated having joined a female only gym for toning, and have found my sugar cravings have gone since I've stuck with my new healthy eating! If Craftyhunnypie reads this; I always needed to snack or crave carbs or I'd feel faint, now I've broken the pattern but still enjoy food. Do join us!
