chestnutmare
I took some photos today from inside the run. My back is in bits from crouching. Perhaps I should have waited until the Omlet netting arrived, easier maybe? Anyway, Belle's the only one not laying yet. I understand that they've 'spread out' the egg laying for me so that I don't get all of the excitement at once . But look at today's photos compared to when she arrived. Larger comb, redder? There's not even a fortnight's difference between these two photos! Then Now This means I'm going to have three eggs tomorrow, doesn't it? UPDATE:- Thanks Space Chick for replying. We were right! Snowy laid a dirty egg this morning before I got chance to leave them out. I normally manage to get there before an egg to clean out the nesting box. It was obviously urgent. I went out later and found TWO MORE eggs! Whaaaatttt???? Three eggs from three hens... all in one morning? Belle's first egg. 50g. we thought Willow was going to be an 'every other day'-er but she's laid three days in a row. Willow laid a large egg today! Willow's eggs - yesterday's (50g) and today's (70g)! What happened? From small to large. My egg skelter is looking very pretty. It's still exciting to get fresh eggs from my own hens. chestnutmare
Thanks Chucky Mam and S&O. I love my egg skelter. I had it before the eglu and chickens . OH bought me it for Christmas along with a lovely egg cup set. He knew it was just a matter of time. So mine was empty for a few weeks. I hope you get excited as me over eggs and post lots of pictures when you get yours .
