laying hybrids

I'm not much of an expert, but from what I understand it takes a while for their egg production to get going. Apparently when they are getting near to be able to lay, they crouch on the ground when you are near them. The large egg is most probably a double yolker - we have had one before & yes it was massive. The hen then went back to normal sized eggs after that.

could be more than one bird laying. got a egg at 7am today when i let them out. i checked at 4pm yesterday and none. was suprised at how early it was laid.thought may get two eggs today but no just the one back to a small size. the farmer did say that the bluebell he has lays a big egg double yolker most of time.havent checked my big egg yet.
