Luvachicken
Does such a thing exist ? I haven't used my fly attractant this year - as it stank so much in my little garden, but I thought maybe there might be some little plants that do the job of keeping flies away instead. I know of Venus flytraps but I'm not sure they can live outside. Anyone got any green fingered ideas ?
jennydavies
We always have Lavender plants in pots next to the french doors to keep all types of insects (flying and crawling) away. The bees like the lavender flowers, but nothing else seems to like the plants. You could also try Citronelle Vervaine in pots as this does the same job as lavender. I also put a few drops of citronella oil onto an upturned terracotta flowerpot in the run when it's sunny. As the sun warms the oil it gives off a lovely lemony aroma which insects don't like. Hope this helps a bit.
