jackian
I have read on here somewhere about giving cod liver oil to the chickens .I have just brought some as Florry has been poorly and am not sure how much to give ,how and when. She is fine now but I hope they take to it better than me .As a child (I am showing my age now) we all had to have it daily ,a tablespoon full of it ..Yuck We used to line up as kids dreading the moment when we had to "open up and swallow"
The Dogmother
I just squirt a bit (I decant it from the big bottle that I get from NAF into an empty washing up liquid bottle) over the pellets and mix it in so that it coats them. clucker1
My measurements are very technical! A splodge, every other day (or when I remember), a splodge being about 1 teaspoon approx between 6 of them. My girls eat it out of their treat bowl...indeed it is deemed a treat! Sometimes I mix it in with their treats, just depending on my mood....either way they gobble it down. Not sure if this is the right/wrong amount, but seems to work for them and I now have stronger egg shells which with just calcium and grit wasn't working ie more softies. Also, treats are miniscual now and are good for them, no carbs, just protein, natural yogurt and of course cod liver oil.
mollyripkim
I just put a splodge in too - not very technical I know - and mix it into their pellets. They seem to love it too.
