Gertie
It's been blowing a gale & hammering rain all day in Bath. The wind is so loud it's kind of scary! Hope everyone s travel goes to plan!
The Dogmother
The wind and rain started up again at bedtime I had to sleep with the window closed, which is something I never do.
Groovychook
More rain and strong winds here overnight. Thankfully our 'dam' kept the water at bay! Seems quite calm this morning but seems that there's another storm on it's way on Friday. Hope everyone stays dry and safe further north today. The Dogmother
It was calm first thing, but the wind and rain started to get up again. Now clearing, and the air pressure is rising as the temperature drops. Drove to work through floods in the fields on either side, forgot to check the Cherwell, but will walk the dogs along that way when I finish at lunchtime. The men at work were out last night with chainsaws to sort out the trees that were down, one was breaching the 8ft fence on the deer park
Valkyrie
We have flooding in the surrounding areas and trees down all around, but thankfully most damage in this neck of the woods seems to be fences! Took the boy in to work (no trains) and amazing how many trees are down a mile or so up the road. OH said a tree was either down or looked pretty near it along by Jlo - he had to take DD in to work. Still raining and still windy but nowhere near as scary as it sounded last night. Last time there were mainly oaks and willows that had fallen, but this time it seems to be mainly conifers and weedy birches.

The Dogmother
It wasn't too bad here yesterday (Boxing Day)... started fine and clear, then got foggy. Travelled to see the outlaws and saw loads of flooding, and up in their neck of the Chilterns, there were a few trees down. So windy here last night, and with horizontal rain, that I had the window closed again dark and windy now. Will take the dogs out for a long walk if the rain stays off until lunchtime. Groovychook
It's been bright and sunny here for the past couple of days with a few showers thrown in. Thrashing with rain now with a gusty wind after a sunny start. Just heard on the radio that the storm is mainly going to affect the areas around the Irish sea. Hope it's not as bad as Monday... The Dogmother
the hounds and I had a lovely (if blowy) walk earlier today; they are now melted onto their beds in front of the stove, and it's blowing up a hooley out there again
