Luvachicken
Well the chickens woke me up again at 6am today, so I got up and let them out etc. I went back to the kitchen, which is where Daisy sleeps and left the back door open for her as it was nice and cool, then I went back to bed. She was fast asleep as usual. Then at 7.45 the chickens were making a right racket, I really didn't want to get up just yet, but thought I better check what they were shouting about. Daisy wasn't in the kitchen when I came down and I couldn't see her around the garden either so I did kind of wonder where she was. And then I found her, right in the middle of our pond really struggling to get out. Poor thing, she has never liked water and that was her first ever swim. She was tangled in the weed and the plants. I don't know how long she had been in the pond but thank goodness the chickens saved the day. They certainly deserve their piece of watermelon today. Daphne
Amazing I have learnt that however much I don't want to go out and investigate out of the ordinary squawking, there is always a very good reason for it. Last time I managed to rescue my best bird out of the mouth of a fox Well done those girls - extra rations methinks I hope Daisy recovers well from her fright
mimi5
GO those girlies!!!! I bet you've never been SO glad that they kicked up a din!!! How's Daisy doing now?? My Willow loves water.....my fear is when we're out and about one day she'll get in to trouble in some water. She has got stuck on a steep bank once....guess who had to recue her!!!! Good job we love our pets!
Luvachicken
We gave her a lovely warm shower and then dried her with the hair dryer. She seemed ok for a little while but later noticed she was shivering a lot, so we warmed her up with the hairdryer again. She seems ok now at 2.30 and has had some biscuits, but somehow she has just caught the skin of her nasty, cancerous lump and made it bleed a little bit
