Miss Millies Chicken
Hi These are my lucky new girls collected last week from BHWT Monmouth. They were Barn/free range. They are fairly well feathered although tatty. Last week had been stressful all round for the girls and me. One hen in particular was being constantly bullied and spent nearly two days refusing to come out of the nest box. However harmony is slowly being restored and today its the usual grumbling and bickering. They have been named after my Great Aunties Aunty Winnie Aunty May Aunty Rosie Aunty Lily (hen on the right)
Millie-Annie
they are lovely and how lucky that your great aunties had such lovely names. I love Aunty Lily, she looks like my Blossom did, almost like a dinosaur with her bald neck. We called her Blossom in the hope she would and she did
Lulabellx1
Ah, lovely pic's. I hope they all settle down nicely, we added 3 new hens to our existing flock of four last Sunday and they are slowly starting to settle down now. Free-ranging really helps! They only seem to find when they are in the WIR. I love Lily, she looks so scraggly, but she feathers up nicely though! Enjoy them, they don't even realise how lucky they are! x
