debsiddle
Hi everyone, I have read other posts on peritonitis with hope, as my girl Lola has it. She had 280ml of fluid removed on Tueday, is on clavaseptin, frusemide and metacam. She is eating reasonably well (chick mash, mealworms, maggots, tomatoes, cucumber). She still can't walk properly though as she is still swollen round her vent. The vet said the muscle had been stretched due to the amount of fluid, so isn't surprised she's still like this, but I'm sure others have experienced this? I'm taking her back to the vets this afternoon to see if she needs draining again. The vet didn't give much hope with EP, but I have read some hope inspiring posts. Anyone else experienced this? x
Ain't Nobody Here
I have had a hen treated for peritonitis who recovered well. I know it doesn't always work but it can!
debsiddle
Was she swollen/had to have fluid removed? I'm concerned even though 280ml have been removed she's still swollen and can't walk. What was her treatment? x
