Space Chick
Well, I've come up with an alarming, but brilliant piece of information We have been giving away our surplus squash from the allotment, probably about 15kg of them Well, when I thought about the people we have given them too, and the people they feed, we have probably fed about 50 people with our allotment squash Ok, I know it's only some veg for part of a meal, but I still feel quite proud of Hubby and the work he does to grow so much wonderful veg we also have 8 jars of squash chutney that we have made and there is some squash soup in the freezer. Not to mention all the broad beans, runner beans, French beans, tomatoes and peppers that have been prepped and frozen (with more sat in the fridge waiting for me to do). He does us (and others) proud
soapdragon
Hats off to your hubs Mind you, it sounds as though you are no lazybones when it comes to the preserving of said produce! Obviously a great team!
chickencam
Well done, the squash family are good value, we have lots of lovely small orange pumpkins for the winter, but only managed 3 smallish butternut squashes this year. We also have 3 larger pumpkins and have had plenty of courgettes.
