Sooo much pooping

OH has been told by our supplier that in the winter if we put the heating on maintenance of 15 degrees and get oil filled heaters we will save a lot of dosh. Anyone recommend a make and did you find your bills went down. I was hoping being menopausal might make me warmer in winter.

we moved into a house with single glazed crittal windows and no heating in feb 2009. i can highly recommend delonghi dragon range of oil radiators. We had 3 delonghi ones and a couple of 'cheap ones' (which were rubbish). They got us through 2 winters before we got double glazing, a boiler and radiators!

Whether it is more cost effective to do it that way i really couldn't say. But the delonghi ones give off alot of heat. one medium size one heated our 23feet x 13feet lounge with the doors shut. But i would say we were hardened to the cold! Our unheated hall and landing was about 9degrees!

 

I am now shivering if the temp drops beow 18 degrees, yes i have gone soft with central heating!

Thanks for replies. I have said I will get a slanket if it gets parky. OH hadnt heard of these (where has he been for the last year) and offered to share it with me declined his offer - I will share it with the cat. I have heard of D'longhis.

We have oil free heaters since out boiler went kaput a few years ago. We are in a three bed house with living room and kitchen and have a heater upstairs on the landing, one in my girls room, one in the living room and one in the hallway, all kept on min unless very cold. The living room one gets turned up and down the most just for a boost when we get in from the cold, and we spend most of our time in their. We also have curtains over our front and back doors which helps keep heat in really well. One pair of John Lewis plain navy ones and were the best £60 spent.
