jeshen
Thought you might like to see this pic of Mr Darcy's six 2-day-old chicks from his four wives. Am thinking I've got 3 gold partridges, 2 millefleurs and one buff....?

jeshen
Thanks - yes, they are cuties! Does anyone know whether the eye-line on one of the lighter-coloured (prob millefleur) chick indicates that she's a girl? I've heard that a line at the side of a gold partridge pekin chick's eye indicates this, but don't know of it applies to millefleurs. I guess I've got to wait another month or so before we can sex them with confidence.
mimi5
Ah such lovely pekin babies When I had Monty's babes 2 years ago we had a cute "eyeliner" baby Millefleur (dad) X sliver partridge (mum) and she turned out to be a girl She is my golden Penny- Penny for short. She was the only girl and had 3 brothers!!!!!! Even more amazing as she was laid after mum started to incubate and once I'd found the extra egg, didn't have the heart to take it out Enjoy your chick watching and let us know if eyeliner chick is also a girlie for you
jeshen
Hi Mimi Chicks now 7 weeks old. 4 girls and 2 boys. The 'eyeliner' chick is a girl, as are the 3 darker chicks. The 2 beautiful millefleur boys have gone to a friend. Have loved watching them all grow! Hope yours are all ok.
