chickencam Posted August 18, 2014 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Not sure if anyone has started a thread for this, I couldn't find one, sorry if you have There are two officially announced contestants so far, Frankie from the Saturdays and Judy Murray. I was shocked by the nasty negative comments on Facebook when Judy's name was announced earlier today. Why do people have to be so horrible. The main issue seems to be that she is not considered to be a celebrity. Surely the definitions of a celebrity is someone who is a household name. She isn't just the mother of a well known person, she is a much respected tennis coach and coach of the British women's Federation cup team, as well as a hard working campaigner who promotes the sport and encourages young people who want to get involved. Also many people know of her, we don't like everyone but why be so nasty? The show isn't called Celebrity Come Dancing and how many times has the line up been announced and many of us have said 'who'? We then watch the show and warm to people we didn't expect to and become less fond of those that we thought we liked. Social media really does bring out the worst in people.
