Strictly Come Dancing 2014 *May contain spoilers.

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone has started a thread for this, I couldn't find one, sorry if you have

There are two officially announced contestants so far, Frankie from the Saturdays and Judy Murray. I was shocked by the nasty negative comments on Facebook when Judy's name was announced earlier today. Why do people have to be so horrible. The main issue seems to be that she is not considered to be a celebrity. Surely the definitions of a celebrity is someone who is a household name. She isn't just the mother of a well known person, she is a much respected tennis coach and coach of the British women's Federation cup team, as well as a hard working campaigner who promotes the sport and encourages young people who want to get involved. Also many people know of her, we don't like everyone but why be so nasty?

The show isn't called Celebrity Come Dancing and how many times has the line up been announced and many of us have said 'who'? We then watch the show and warm to people we didn't expect to and become less fond of those that we thought we liked.

Social media really does bring out the worst in people. Sorry rant over

Oooh. Can't wait., and you are right about the celebrity thing. I have no idea who Frankie from the Saturday's is, but I sure as heck know who Judy Murray is.

Other way around for me - no idea who Judy was at all, but Frankie I know, & she seems lovely (& probably a very good dancer too)

Alison Hammond from This Morning is a definite announcement today. And again the hate comes out, why why why do people have to be so cruel? :?

Can't wait for strictly, the standard of dancing seems to get better and better each year and the show always has a good mix of personalities.

Presumably we will get the taster pairing programme then they will make us wait 2-3 weeks for the main show. I hate that wait but I suppose they must have time to actually learn a first dance :lol:

I really enjoyed tonight's show, even though,as someone who doesn't watch soaps I hardly knew any celebrity! They all seemed pretty good dancers so hope it's a good series. It heralds Autumn.Saturday evenings with the fire lit, chinese takeaway and Strictly.

Well, I had the stove lit, but I can't say that I was enthused by the line-up. Good job that they introduced them and told us whet they do as I had no idea, Rosie filled me in on some of them.

I didn't know many of them either DM, no teenager here to help, only OH and he was as bad as me.

But looking forward to the coming weeks but it does mark the coming of autumn which is sad, I do not like the dark evenings.

First to go?

My vote is with either the older man with those dangling glasses, or the blonde woman in the blue lace dress (Mrs Brown?) no natural movement at all.

Agreed. Judy Murray was a bit stiff too. The bald headed gruff voiced baddie from Eastenders could move though.

I thought last night's programme was a bit shambolic tbh.
