Chickabee
If it's wood be careful of ride mites. You really don't want to be getting those. Not about much at this time of year, but they're sneaky little blighters. Could be hiding in crevices
girlypants
my new chicken run has arrived, very well built for price too, my lawn will get a break from them now, im amazed at how fast chickens adapt to new homes/runs, the seem to love it, makes my life easy now, they have their own area now on concrete which is easy to clean, i shall let them run about the garden as and when so my lawn dont get wreaked, happy days

Beantree
I was reading 'Choosing and Keeping Chickens' by Chris Graham last week. In it is mentioned that Pekin bantams are known in the rest of the world as Cochins, or Cochin bantams. It is generally agreed that the Pekin has no connection with the Cochin apart from similar origins. So the question is Girlypants, have you got Cochin bantams or are they all actually Pekins? The Pekin is not an exact miniature version of the Cochin apparently. You may find this all confusing and that will be both of us then! I didnt even know any breeds of chickens till someone asked me "what chickens you got nathan" then i had trouble looking them up on google, even now im unsure of what breeds they are, all i know is that they are nice looking, lay eggs and have funny personalitys , thats why I joined this fine forum (for advice that is)
Cat tails
In Holland Pekins don't exist. They are always referred to as Cochin bantams.
